Hello,

i posted earlier about being diagnosed with Bartonella. I was

diagnosed with that because my western blots came back negative but i

had pretty much all they symptoms of Lyme and Bartonella. so my doctor

wanted to treat me for bartonella. (tick borne diseases are one of

his specialties).

Well two days after my diagnosis, the lab faxed and called my doctor

to tell him I actually did test positive for Lyme on the western

blots. (not sure why that happened yet). anyway, he decided to treat

me for Lyme first since it would only mean taking Amoxicillin (i'm

allergic to doxy)and not the 3 antibiotics he had originally

prescribed for three months for the Bart. He said that i might be

co-infected but lets see what happens after a month on Amox.

Not to sound impatient, but I've been on the Amox for 2 weeks and see

no change. He told me to expect a point where i feel worse (is that

herxing?) as the bacteria get killed. well, i feel neither better nor

worse. Is that usual? should i expect to see some change after 2

weeks on Amox? i had thought at least the cough would be gone by now.

by the time i was diagnosed Jan. 4th, it was 7 months after the tick

bite. I never got a bulls eye rash. but i started feeling worse and

worse. my muscles were fatigued, I was weak, my joints hurt badly,

cough, i was exhausted, my vision was affected, significant cognitive

problems, headaches, loss of balance, etc etc. finally i was just

homebound. (all still true) My doctor didn't tell me what stage of

lyme that was but i've been told the time you are diagnosed after bite

and the symptoms you have at that time affect recovery time. from

what you know, would i be at an early stage of Lyme? or later stage?

so do i just have to be more patient? or should i be concerned i

havent seen any changes in symptoms by now?

oh..also, someone told me i should get an ECG and neurological testing

since i have these symptoms. has that been your experience?

thanks

St.
