Guest guest
Does anyone know where to find a list of LLMDs? The only one I know of is the LDA list, and they only let you look up 3 per month, and personally I find it to be a really crappy and confusing system. I need to be able to look up different kinds of specialists in different states as I am willing to travel to find different treatment options and pricing. Looking up " Lyme doctors " online is obviously a waste as it mostly takes you to IDSA docs. In reading boards like this I have found some LLMDs, but I feel I'm probably missing some. I simply don't understand why it's so secretive. Who are they hiding from? The LDA seems to think they are being harrassed--but aren't the harassers aware of who all the docs are anyway? And since those harassers are part of the medical/insurance complex and have offices, they can easily do multiple searches on that list from multiple computers--so I don't see the point of the secrecy. Can I get a list from ILADS? Or Igenex? I don't care if they're technically ILADS members as long as they're on the same wavelength. Guest guest
Well, I gather you are looking for a doctor and are feeling frustrated due to the difficulty of it due to " the secrecy " , but know that many people have emotional pain from watching their doc quit due to harassment or watching their doc lose his/her license for no real reason other than treating people with lyme. Thus, its an emotional thing and people feel the need to protect their docs. My kid's pediatrician, who is also an Infectious Disease Doc, stated he would not even test my son, even though he had a rash. He said he did not want to lose his license Thus, know that there is a real problem, and people are struggling with their lives. There is much feeling towards a need to do all we can to protect the very few, brave docs left who will treat people with lyme. I read weekly of people complaining about their docs moving out of state, no longer seeing people with lyme, or flat out refusing to see them again because they might now have lyme. Thus, have patience with us; this whole situation is very difficult. Heidi N From Missmaples: " I simply don't understand why it's so secretive. Who are they hiding from? Guest guest
Hi , Dr Bernard Raxlen is in New York City and a very caring, wonderful doctor. We first learned of him from the discovery health channel. He is one of the co-founders of the lyme association. Great doctor.
