Guest guest
Joe, that's so terrible. I think Ann is right, you should get a social security lawyer ASAP. You don't have to pay them up front, they take a percentage of the back benefits you get. It may take a long time to get it though, months or years. In the meantime, for your Lyme you could try some herbs such as Dr. Zhang's herbs (dr-zhang.com, they helped me without antibiotics to go along with them--the allicin alone is probably enough) and some people say Samento helps them, and it's pretty cheap--I find it's too strong for me. Naproxen, good grief (I recently broke a bone in my foot and was also told to take Naproxen! Luckily I have my own rx painkillers!). I don't know if you're looking for stronger pain meds but if you google " free prescriptions " there are quite a few programs that provide free or low-cost medication to low-income people and there are also printable discount prescription cards. You do need the prescription though. Maybe try a free clinic or public hospital that treats for a low cost? A lot of docs would probably dx you with fibromyalgia and prescribe a stronger pain med. Being on pain meds and other prescriptions would help you with your social security claim. It's a Catch-22--you need the SS to get treatment, but it's harder to get SS if you're not in treatment as they see the treatment as evidence that you are sick. Maybe someday we'll have universal health care and enlightened doctors... Mindy > > I was diagnosed in '04 while hospitalized for a toatally different > reason.
