I live in the hill country near Kerrville. I would like to offer this bit of

information to you. Please do not waste valuable time looking for a LLMD in

Texas. I looked and was rejected by 4 infectious disease doctors in San

ans Houston. I see a wonderful LLMD in Louisiana. It is an 8-9 hour drive but I

have had more progress in the 8 months I have been under his care than the 14

yrs with others nearby.

Just for your consideration.

Best of luck to you!

Hi ,

I also live in Austin. I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but this is

hard to find. You can contact the Texas Lyme disease Association and/or

www.standupforlyme.org. There is an Austin support group. The leader's name is

and her email is tmomintexas2@....

I wish you the best of luck,

ia

go to www.lymediseaseassociation.org and click on " doctor referral " and it will

take you to a new window. You will have to " register " with the doctor referral

service. This will help you get started with some names of LLMD's that meet

certain criteria set by International Lyme and Associated Diseases. It provides

the provider's name, subspecialties, and phone number(s). I hope this helps! I

can recommend a very good LLMD in andria LA if you are willing to travel out

of TX. Let me know if you need the info of the LLMD I can recommend; for I go to

the one I recommend and am very pleased with the knowledge of Lyme disease, the

caring and helpful attitude of the entire staff, their willingness and

assistance in arranging my IV therapy here in FL where I live by communicating

with my doctors here, and many other awesome qualities I can boast about. Hope

this helps!

I can only echo what the others have said...don't waste your precious time

looking for an LLMD in TX!

Get to Louisiana fast! I also HIGHLY recommend the Doc in the andria area!

He is highly knowledgeable in ILADS methods **AND** he accepts most major

insurances!

For more information on Lyme literate news and research go to

www.publichealthalert.org . This is a newspaper dedicated to Lyme and other

chronic illnesses ...and it is based out of TEXAS! (I am the editor :-D).

I assist the DFW support group leader-- and I can assure you that you will waste

time and money looking in Texas.

I cant tell you the number of times I have heard " We don't have Lyme in Texas "

....even when my neurologist was staring at a POSITIVE blood test! He told me it

must have been a FALSE positive and refused to treat me.

Best of luck!

Dawn
