Guest guest
Hi, Sounds like you've been put thru the ringer big time. Unfortunately, lyme is different for everyone and I doubt anyone could put a realistic number on when recovery will be. I also totally understand where you are emotionally. It doesnt help that your dad is quasi supportive, telling you to get on disability.... However, I think you SHOULD ABSOLUTELY be tested for co-infections with a LYME LITERATE doc. Others, unfortunately just dont have enough understanding of the disease, its different courses, etc. I was supposedly " cured " from lyme after a round of rocephin, but I still felt horribly tired and achey, to the point of being unable to do much of anything for more than 2 hours a day. I went and got tested for add'l co-infections and found out that I had babesia, erlichosis, and another debilitating one that I cant think of now! It sucks, because you're young, and might have been one of those that was off to college like your friends. By the way, why cant you e-mail them? Call their parents, or them, and get their e-mail addresses! It might help talking with your old buddies, and possibly planning to hook up with them when they are back for Thanksgiving. In the interim, you can try and get better with the docs you have for now....sounds like the right meds for what you described, although I am not a cardiac doc...that's not something to fool around with (heart probs). I know I'm saying anything you dont know. Also, although not your ultimate choice, you might check out an online school, or the local community college, maybe part time for now - even they have courses that are offered online. They can easily be transferred when you're up and about. You are going to get yourself thru this. Its possibly the hardest issue you've yet to deal with, but use whatever faith and motivation you can muster and you can and will get better. Not maybe in the timeframe you might be expecting, but it will happen. Please feel to contact me directly and I can give you a host of N. lyme docs from the other website I belong to concerning lyme (NoVALyme @ ). Hang in there, you can do this....dont talk about ending it all anymore if you can, or at least temper it with a statement that is positive like, when I can, I'm going to school in Florida (maybe not, Ike is a bit scary) or CA or NY or even be a bama! Take care and stay in touch! CC -- Thanks, ~Cecelia , M.S.Ed.
