Hi All

I have been on LDN 3ml for 21 days & seem to be tolerating it really well.

Last year I tried it for Fibromyalgia / CFS at tiny doses and had intense stomach cramps. I had to stop for things not related to LDN.

So this year I jumped in at 3ml as I have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer & read that the higher doses are more effective for this. I also have a recently diagnosed Hiatus Hernia.

Question: Should I try & go straight to 4.5ml now to gain the full advantage for cancer?

I was told that I need to add in Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) for cancer. I tried 300mg yesterday and had the most awful stomach cramping, acid feeling in my gullet & throat, pains & exhaustion.

Question: Could ALA be causing stomach cramping or is it a coincidence? I'm sensitive to many things. I also re-started Inulin (prebiotic) but haven't had a problem with that in the past.

I'm taking a mix of supplements: Vitamin C, Vitamin D3, Hydroxy B12, Dibencozide, Grapeseed Extract which all seem fine.

Has anyone else had bad side effects from ALA?

Many thanks for any help.

With breast cancer you should look at iodine.

Breast Cancer and Iodine : How to Prevent and How to Survive Breast

Cancer

With alpha lipoic acid you can try to start at 100 mg

..it should be from a

good brand like metabolic maintenance .dr berkson says that all the Chinese products

are contaminated.you should always have B-complex with ALA

HiMany thanks for the info on Iodine – very interesting as I was told by my GP years ago to cut out salt due to high BP. I have very little to no salt for many years! I will look into getting Lugol's Iodine & the book you mentioned. With ALA I only have 300mg capsules so can I take the powder from the caps and mix with water? I ordered the ALA from Iherb.com in the States. They are made by Healthy Origins. They are distributed by a company in Philadelphia so I've no idea if they are originally from China. I looked up Metabolic Maintenance ALA and can only see it sold in the US where it is over the price limit for getting through Customs without paying a huge charge into the UK. Can anyone tell me if Healthy Origins is a good source ALA or where I can get a good brand ALA in the UK? I've ordered B-complex and waiting for it to come through from Iherb. In low dose naltrexone , "zahavi" <zahavi100@...> wrote:>> With breast cancer you should look at iodine.> > <http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1552128849?ie=UTF8 & tag=hormondisbal-20 & lin> kCode=as2 & camp=1789 & creative=9325 & creativeASIN=1552128849> Breast Cancer and> Iodine : How to Prevent and How to Survive Breast Cancer> > With alpha lipoic acid you can try to start at 100 mg .it should be from a> good brand like metabolic maintenance .dr berkson says that all the Chinese> products are contaminated.you should always have B-complex with ALA>

[low dose naltrexone] LDN & Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA)

I had a bad reaction to one of the ALA's, it gave me the most horrible heartburn, so now I am on Dr's Best which is not causing the problem. The one that gave me the heartburn was Puritan's pride....I wrote and told them about it..... So sorry you have been diagnosed with breast cancer, I take 4.5 LDN and am doing well with it, and although Dr Zagon advises me to stick with what is working for me, he usually suggests 3mg.......
