Guest guest
Hi Carolyn, Yes, I had the saliva test. My morning and afternoon were barely in range they were so low, and my evening and night were extremely high. That's why im taking cortef and adrenal supplement the doctor gave me. So im taking armour, cortef, diflucan, and nystatin. In a message dated 11/2/2010 5:25:05 P.M. I was tested and found to be in mild Adrenal Fatigue. I am following both the Candida and Adrenal Fatigue protocols. Additionally, I take Armour Thyroid Extract. I do believe that Candida and AF are synergistic. One definitely affects the other, and the toll on the body is intensified when both are present. Not sure which came first in my case, but I am addressing both. Hope this helps. Carolyn > > Guys, > Im just wondering if anyone knows what an ideal tsh number is. Guest guest
I had the same thyroid problems after i had antifungic medicine for 2 weeks,it was diflucan .Than made my simptoms sooo bad. I had my TSH 0.01 .They put me in the hyperthyroid part and they say i have Basedow Graves or Hashimoto... i think its just a bad reaction of the body having killed such manny candida inside the body. I stopped diflucan cuz its made me feel sooo bad...i though i ll die. Now i am better and i prepare miself to attack candida on natural way. ________________________________ From: " daisytiff228@... In July, it was: TSH: 3.56 (.27-4.2) Free T4: 1.32 (.93-1.7) Free T3: 3.7 (2.57-4.43) Now, 3 months after taking Armour, it seems the T4 and T3 are going down which I dont understand. The numbers just recently were: TSH: 1.46 Free T4: .95 Free T3: 2.8 Im not feeling well, but again, Im on support for candida (diflucan, nystatin, diet) and adrenals (cortef and adrenal glandulars) so I have no idea what's causing what. Im just trying to figure out what's going on with the thyroid because im not sure why the numbers are going down and I dont want to cause myself worse problems. Guest guest
Hi, I have thyroid problems and NO it didn't cause any problems at all. As a mater fact after losing 105 pounds my thyroid started to work much better. I only take 1/4 of the medication that I used to take. Go for it and have the sleeve, that is the best thing you will ever do for yourself. I started out at 225 and now weigh120. Suzanne In a message dated 11/23/2010 1:23:03 P.M. Guest guest
mgb?? That is not a safe surgery. just as plication, only the bottom feeder surgeons even DO that procedure. MGB was the original bypass and doctors realized how bad it was and the better surgeons decided not to do it. Today we have the safer gastric bypass. MGB is technically easier to do than full bypass, but again better surgeons who want safe weight loss do not do MGB. Stick with the sleeve if you want to live. Guest guest
With normal thyroid labs (with meds) weight loss is absolutely no different from those with no thyroid problems. Guest guest
Hi all I have been taking LDN since October 09 and am a lot better since starting it.I was in a bad way and although I have had underactive thyroid for 20years it is the past 4 that I suffered after giving up smoking 60 a day.I have seen an endicrinologist on the NHS (no good) but in the end it was my own research which helped.I found LDN looking for help for my best friend who was diagnosed 3 yeasr ago with MS age 49. I now find that I am suffering from low mood.I have not had this feeling since my son was born and he will be 28 next week.I suffered post natal depression then.I hate the thought of anti depressents and think it must be my hormones (or lack of them) causing this dark feeling.I hate the thought of HRT and did try the "natural" progesterone cream which was onlly slightly helpful.I take thyroxine 125mcg per day and have regular blood tests.I take 3.5 LDN per night.I also suffer from Lican Planus which was discovered in OCt 09 which is why I started the LDN. I am wondering if I should buy some Tineptine (stablon) as I have heard they are different to usual anti depressents???? Can anyone offer any advise and would it be ok to take with LDN and thyroxine.LDN from my GP "off Label" Sorry for being so long Margaret
Guest guest
I have been taking 5htp for more than 10 years and it has been extremely helpful for depression and pain relief (for fibromyalgia). I had a series of extreme stressors and had a health breakdown which led me to LDN, but I find I still need the 5HTP for optimal functioning. I think 5htp is an excellent choice because it is the natural extract of a flower seed native to South Africa, it easily enters the brain where it is the precursor to serotonin, and it makes more sense to me to take steps to give the brain more serotonin than simply conserving what little serotonin there may be available (and running out of serotonin to conserve is why many SSRIs stop working over time). So the process has described is a good one, it's just that why take a drug (stablon) when you can take a nutritive seed? I have felt much better since taking digestive enzymes. I take the lowest cost one (in a yellow label) from Whole Foods own label, just double or triple my dose. Doesn't have to be super expensive, at least in my experience. You might want to consider changing to Armour or NatureThroid or WestThroid, they are whole thyroid hormones, with both T4 and T3. Many people do better with both, despite medical science's scepticism. I became a different person when I changed to whole thyroid-- for the first time since diagnosis and treatment, I felt like my energy was coming from inside of me again, instead of imposed from the outside. That feeling has remained. Also, anyone with thyroid issues is deficient in iodine (although most people are anyway). The Iodine Protocol is indispensable to me. check it out at: iodine/ I've been so happy because after an initial weight gain following the start of LDN and then the Iodine Protocol 16 months ago, I've lost 35 or more pounds. This tells me my thyroid issues have finally achieved adequate treatment, as I was a skinny kid with a high metabolism. best wishes, -- At 08:35 AM 4/19/2011, you wrote: >Margaret, this is not medical advice, but I suggest you may try >tagamet afore trying stablon. >I have used stablon off and on for ten years, great to boost energy >and socializing. Guest guest
It sounds to me that your thyroid needs more help. LDN and thyroid meds are not a problem, as far as I know (I take LDN and T3). They are a life saver for many of us. These are the same hormones that you body made when you were young and healthy and vibrant. Why would they be a bad thing today? DO NOT consider taking PremPro or Premarin, as they are not bio-identical and have been proven to increase all of the things that natural hormones protect the body against, like stroke and heart attack. There is a huge difference, but nobody here will be surprised to find out that Premarin and PremPro can be patented and sold for big bucks, and the natural hormones cannot be patented, so they do not make nearly so much money, and are not promoted. Pick up a book or two by Suzanne Somers. I like Half.com and you can find them here: http://search.half.ebay.com/suzanne-somers_W0QQmZbooks I suggest Knockout for those with cancer and The Sexy Years for hormones (you can hardly beat it at $.75!) We started with a good hormone and nutrition doctor in Austin TX several years ago, but then moved to Bowling Green KY. There was nobody in the area to go to, even as far as Nashville TN. So, we traveled to Texas once or twice a year and since we were established, could just have the prescriptions shipped to us. The real kicker was when I went to local doctors for my uterine cancer. They all shook their heads, knowing that the hormones had caused my cancer. I paid extra after the surgery to have the tumor tested for receptors, and was vindicated to find that it did NOT have receptors for either estrogen or progesterone. Many doctors today are idiots, and not at all informed on natural ways to stay healthy. I did not stop either of them after diagnosis, or before or after surgery to remove the tumor. The only thing that I would give them up for is my LDN. But then, I think that one of the reasons that I had such good luck with LDN was BECAUSE I also added the hormones, thyroid treatment, and got on a healthy diet. I am not perfect on any of them, but really do make an effort to keep up these things: LDN, bio-identical hormones, a fresh food diet as much as possible and supplements like iodine and vitamin D. Please read a bit about bio-identical hormones and see if they are not exactly the final point that you need to come back to good health and a positive outlook. Sincerely, Francie
