I also do not think your problem is mainly thryoid - check out Dr. Rind's list of symptoms comparing adrenal fatigue to low thyroid at: http://www.drrind.com/scorecardmatrix.asp However thinking can greatly influence things. Guest guest
I was just reading last night in Nourishing Traditions how healing fish stock made with the heads is for thyroid. Anyone (Bee?) know how this works with candida? Is it an acceptable " food " ?

Guest guest
Ok I had been on natural hormones from Florida for 3 years and kept gaining so I asked the Dr. to put me on Synthroid. He did and gave me 0.125 then it just did the same as the natural. So I was at the endro yesterday and she evaluated my chart and it kept going up so she said that maybe I didnt need as much as I was given. Which makes sense to me so now I have 100 mcg which I will take half of it each day and see what it does to me. If its ok I'll keep doing that but it I feel nervous or grouchy I'll go to the 100. I'll let you all know what happens. Sandyinindiana@... --------------------------------- Check out the all-new beta - Fire up a more powerful email and get things done faster. I ask because my hair is STILL falling out and I put on weight (am I the only one to do this on your diet?) Some days I shed more than others so I assume this to be the fluctuations to which you refer. I was 6 months into the plan when my hair started falling out and it has been coming out for about 4 months, I did deviate (which probably prolongs my healing) a few times in the last few months. Also would it be wise to avoid the cruciferous veggies during this time? I gave them up for about 2 months and that metal collar feeling around my neck subsided. Now I do eat broccolli, cabbage, mustard, etc and I no longer get that tight feeling around my neck so I know it is healing but can you give me a guesstimate on the hair loss? Also I'm still off the lemons because they made my hair fall out in piles. I just can't tolerate the fructose, I miss the electrolyte drink too, it was really helping detoxify me, I can feel the difference. Thanks for your input Bee and Merry Christmas. Hi Shirley - Just want you to know that I also have gained on the program and I also have thyroid problems. I know it is due to that - I can tell that my metabolism is sooo slow. Prior to all of this (the last 3 yrs.) I would have become skin and bones on this diet. Now my body hangs on to everything. I also continue to lose hair - which started 3yrs ago when my thyroid problems started. I just figure all of these things will resolve when the candida/thyroid problems resolve, but I really can make no guesses how long it will take. You are not alone! I believe I discussed this a few months ago - try a search of our archives to find them using " goitergens " or some similar word. >I gave them up for about 2 months and that metal collar feeling around my neck subsided. At this point I wish I could take Armour but I can not *prove* to my doctor anything is wrong by my blood work. That has to be the most frustrating part, he looks at me like I have three heads when I tell him " my cells are rigid and the hormones are not getting in!!! " kinda funny actually. Even the holistic practitioner in the area didn't " know " that one. Course he recommends dairy, fruits, and nuts on his diet.......need I say more. Butter does have unique benefits - see the Butter Info in our files (I think it is in the Candida Diet Folder; maybe in Fat Facts). > > >==>Are you sure you aren't being constantly exposed to any toxins at work or at home? > > No, there are toxins everywhere in my apartment; new carpeting, musty basement, etc. ==>That's too bad. To lessen outgassing spinkle baking soda all over the carpet, let it sit about 1/2 hour and then vaccum it up. > > Thanks for the help Bee, maybe I'll ask Santa to intervene here ;+) ==>I agree you should ask Santa. Guest guest
> > I have a low thyroid - cold all the time, dry skin, hair falling out, low body tempterature, etc. I read on this site that Coconut Oil can help. ==>Hi Lynn. Yes coconut oil can help, but all of your symptoms indicate you have candida. Diet and supplements are the most important aspects of curing candida, please see my article " How to Successfully Overcome Candida " and the other candida articles at my new website (see address below). > > I used it in my eggs for Breakfast both yesterday & today. Afterwards, I feel awful - headache, weak, tired, fuzzy, gassy, etc. ==>The reason you feel awful is because coconut oil is antifungal so it is killing off candida which causes die-off symptoms. To minimize symptoms cut back, starting with the amount recommended in my article, and only gradually increase it. But you will need to do the entire candida program. ==>Low thyroid is very common for candida sufferers because candida toxins, which are mostly alcohol, make all of the body's cells go rigid therefore 1) the thyroid is less capable of producing hormones, 2) hormones that are produced are not getting in the cells where they are needed to do their job because they are rigid. ==>I do not recommend trying to treat your thyroid directly because it isn't the problem, candida is. When I cured my candida over 20 years ago my thryoid was tampered with too much, i.e. iodine, dessicated thyroid pills and I acquire severe Grave's disease and had to have it zapped with radiation. The thyroid can go into a tizzy like mine did if overtreated. Also all forms of soy cause thyroid problems. Once you cure candida the cells will not be rigid anymore so things will normalize. It is also important to eat a high ratio of natural saturated fats like I recommend in my article, including butter, lard, fish fats and oils, etc. because in order for cell membranes to be healthy they need to be constructed out of 50% saturated fat (cells in the lungs require 100% saturated fat). Treat your whole body Lynn, and your thyroid will normalize. The best in health, Bee

Hi , No I did not take any thyroid meds, my blood work never showed an imbalance (rigid cells) even though I had dry, cracked skin, a hoarse voice, mega hair loss, coarse dry hair, no sex drive, stopped period, weight gain, you get the picture. There were times that I wanted desperately to take anything just to get my hair to stop falling out but I couldn't get a script because I couldn't *prove* there was a problem. Bee just kept on telling me that my thyroid WOULD heal though, so I persevered, and voila, it has! Hang in there , it will heal. CONGRATULATIONS, Shirley !!!! > Just wondering if you can elaborate on what the enamel problem was... and > what results you got... Hi , I was a rather voracious tooth brusher and consequently I scrubbed alot of the enamel right off my teeth. I had severe sensitivity to the point that I had two un-necessary root canals done. I started Bee's diet in Feb of 06 and I was using alot of gelatin over the summer and by last Sept I noticed that I had re-generated all new enamel where I had brushed it off. Bee thinks it was the lack of sugar and good diet but I am convinced it was the gelatin. Either way I am estatic because I thought that I was going to have to tolerate this sensitivity for the rest of my life, NOT!!!!
