Hi,

I am newly diagnosed with Lyme, although believe I have been suffering

at least 20 years ( I am 26). I am seeing a infectious disese doctor

in Lansdowne, VA. I live in Reston. I am having trouble finding Lyme

doctors or natural even. If anyone has information regarding either of

these that you would feel comfortable in sharing please PM me. I would

really like to find people more specialized. I am willing to travel.

Thanks,

Hi jenny! I'm sosorry to hear that you have been having a hard time. I have

attached a MS word document that has some LLMD's (Lyme Literate Medical

Doctors/Naturopaths) listed by the Lyme Disease Association. You can also do

your own search by clicking on the link below and registering with the LDA's

doctor referral service. I hope this helps. This way you can search for LLMD's

that you may be satisfied with. I can tell you from personal experience that

just because they may be on the list, it doesn't mean that the doctor/naturopath

is truly a good Lyme disease specialist. I had seen one, that was on the list,

in Mobile AL and he was against using Igenex, the Lyme disease specialty testing

lab, and he did not believe in treating Lyme, especially chronic Lyme, for more

than 60-90 days. I have written a complaint to the LDA regarding my experience

with this doctor and hopefully they will take that doctor off their referral

list. I hope this helps! Let me know what you find out.

I'm 35 y.o. and I've had Lyme and the co-infection Babesia since September 2006.

I am now having to treat with IV Rocephin. My LLMD is in Louisiana and I live in

FL. I usually keep in touch with my LLMD via phone/fax. My primary doctor is

working with my LLMD in getting me my IV meds, etc. You want a LLMD that uses

Igenex to test for Lyme disease and co-infections. Whatever you do, do NOT use

Labcorp, they are the worst lab I have ever had experience with. Don't even use

Labcorp for any of the other tests such as the CD57, EBV, CMV, etc that your

LLMD may order. Let me know if you need any assistance in what tests you should

ask for. Keep me informed of how you are doing!

Sincerely,

Barbara
