Guest guest
Hi, I would love any advice on what helped your children with social skills. My son is doing very well on enzymes. He has no real behavior problems, no stemming, and really no autism systems except delayed speech and lack of social interaction with peers. He is quite social with us. I am feeling a bit lost. Guest guest
Quite often the kids are used to dealing with adults all the time (my daughter was). Adults are very predictable. Kids are not predictable, don't indicate who they are talking to, what they are talking about, are very impulsive, don't get a child's attention, etc. It can be very chaotic for a child to understand everything around them, adults make this very easy. I'm working on taking one other peer girl my daughter's age, limiting a few things for them to play with, then prompting the peer on what to say to my daughter, making sure she has my daughter's attention etc. So it is kind of a cross between the adult world and the child world. I also, found another child who is close to the autistic spectrum but more advanced. His thing is though he will get in my daughter's face and demand a response so she really pays attention to him and it's been the best situation:) Best Wishes!
