Guest guest
Dear Spiritual Relatives: I just wanted to share some input on Hanblechya. My experience comes from my own Hanblechya on Porcupine (part of Pine Ridge) in 1996: First, in regards to the statement, "create a sacred stone circle on the ground in which the person sits", it became common after Fools Crow to use Prayer Ties to surround the circle. I was instructed to create 100 prayer ties to surround me in the circle. The statement about having "a journal to record your experiences" might speak to an individual putting themselves "out on the hill" but the Lahkota don't 'journal' when you're out on the hill...praying, singing, observing, listening...but no journaling.Lastly, this last statement in the article I felt extremely uncomfortable with: "This transformational experience has been sometimes been done with the use of hallucinogens <http://www.crystali nks.com/hallucin ogens.html> such as peyote, mescaline, and the South American Iawaska plant during sacred initiation rites." Although, Elders never spoke a negative word about any other traditions (saying only you "never mixed the traditions"), we were always encouraged to be free of drugs of any kind in order to be with the Creator with a clear heart, a clear mind and a clear spirit. I say this in a Good Way and with a Good Heart, Mitakuye O'yasin (All my relations), Lynn "ManyFires Woman"
