My advice is to call or write your Congressman and skip the e-mail. When you

write your Congressman/woman, (cc) send a copy to another Congressman such as

(R-NC) or Gilman (NY).

Hi,

Two things:

1. When you send email to Govt officials/offices, nine times out of ten (if not

more) it isn't read by anyone other than a staffer who discards (deletes) most

mails. Primarily you will receive a computer generated generic response, and

have a nice day!

2. The best methods are phone calls and snail mail. Most web sites have the

phone numbers for both the DC and regular state offices. I call and can hear

the

audible " sigh " on the other end (they know it's me again :-).

aka DSNurse will tell you the same thing...canvass them with phone

calls/faxes/ and snail mail. You can still send email...if you like talking to

a

computer, but the other methods are more productive.

Finally: If you can do it...go to their offices and meet with them!

To All,

Even going to their offices isn't a sure fire thing but it's a start. I

have done that with my elected official. I took the other route also and

that got me no were. " What problems, we don't have a problem! " Go figure.

Just stay positive and continue to " Do the Right Thing! " More need to

comer out from behind closed doors and report their symptoms if they are

having problems. Call the Persian Gulf Registry and if your have been to

the Gulf, call the Deployment health Clinic at Walter . 202-782-6563

DSN 662. They are looking for Gulf Vets that have problems. I would even

suggest writing to AVEC. Many of the self refereed VAERS forms are not being

included in their numbers they post.

Be well! Wishing everyone improved health and happiness.

In Christ,

Bob

Stefanie was getting IVIG every 3 weeks until 2 weeks ago now she is on sub Q

infusions 3 times a week. She has very bad veins. Are you getting home

infusions or are you going to the doctor's office? What doctor is treating

your child? Stefanie sees Dr. Berger at Rainbow babies and children's

Hospital.

Pam.

Dr. Berger is the hero in our family we had to fly 3,000 miles to meet him

and he is the one responsible for Chelsea finally getting treatment of IVIG

almost three and half years ago! He is an incredible Doctor and I wish we

could see him regularly.

Pam,

Dr. Berger is 's regular doctor; he is who broke the bad news to

us about him probably not outgrowing this deficiency. I am very sad about

the diagnosis but I am very glad to have such a knowledgeable doctor. His

bed side manner has improved. For over a year he did not see patients due

to focusing on research; however, the immun. or was seeing moved to

another state so now Dr. Berger is back to seeing patients.

Right now receives IVIG every three weeks with a pediatric home

health nurse whom I love to death. She has the best bed side manner of any

home nurse I've met. My son has terrific veins so I won't have to worry

about changing the route for awhile (cross my fingers). RB & C is the place

to be for an illness such our children's.

Rose, I also wanted to tell you that my daughter was dx with IGG deficiency

when she was 13 mos old. She was started on IVIG immediately because she

was soooo sick. She received IVIG for 2 years and was successfully trialed

off in the summer. She is now 10 and is as healthy as any of her peers.

She was even lucky enough to contract the chicken pox last year; thankfully

did not get them. I still find it amazing how my children's

presentation with PID was so different. Hope was acutely ill from about 8

months until her diagnoses at 13 months. on the other hand just had

constant ear infections and pneumonia's; his illnesses were more in number

and less severe than Hope's but his tended to last longer.

I'm glad to here that Dr. Berger is such a great Dr. We have only been with

him for about a month. We were seeing Dr. Hostoffer before but because of

Stef's vein situation we switched to Dr. Berger for sub Q infusions. So far

we have been very happy with Dr. Berger. He also told us he does not believe

Stef will get any better but we had kind of already accepted that. Please

feel free to email me directly at spamsucks9@...
