Treating Lyme

Here's my experience and recommendations. I found a tick May 20 and

also found on the web information that a single dose of antiobiotic

within 72 hours of the bite will prevent the disease. I DON'T

RECOMMEND this. One dose did NOT work and on June 5 I got a Fever and

a bulls eye rash. I started Salt - C (a gram of salt and a gram of

Vitamin C every hour up to 18 hours a day) and then I started

antibiotics the next day in addition. I had herxheimers on the salt

C, but when I stopped it and just relied on the antibiotic, the herx's

stopped. When I started the Salt - C again the Herxes resumed. I am

currently 2 weeks into treatment, still feeling some joint and muscle

pain and lots of depression. I'm hopeful though, that I can get rid of

this.

So---recommendations.

Find a lyme literate MD.

Read, read, read and be willing to try different things. I'm reading

Healing Lyme which I got from the library. Interesting but VERY scary.

Start Antiobiotics ASAP and fight like crazy.

Treat your yard, if that's where you think you got it. Try the garlic

based or other natural treatment- also discourages mosquitos. Wear

insect repellant, even if you hate it.

Save evidence, Like the tick if you can. Photograph the bulls eye rash

in case you can't get to an MD right away. The rashes can be short lived.

Talk with your neighbors if you live in an area with lyme ticks. You

will be surprised at how many have had some experience with Lyme.

Warn your neighbors. There are more new cases of Lyme a year than

AIDS, these days.

Be vigilant for further bites. Buy a bug suit and wear it. (Bass Pro

sells them or you can find them on the web.

Good luck
