Guest guest
Kenda, Will your Dr begin treatment on clinical symptoms? I didn't start treatment until 20 months after the initial bite and then only because the Dr took into consideration the detailed history of my symptoms. It wasn't until at least a month later that the test came back that I had one certain band on the Igenex Western Blot that only shows up in Lyme. Other than that I've never tested positive on the endless ELISA and WB tests that other Dr's (all who ignored my symptoms) ran. I had the added complication 7 months into LD of coming down with EBV, sinusitis and bronchitis and was given prednisone for the severe bronchitis. My Dr tells me I will never test positive on the run of the mill tests for LD again because of the prednisone. So if I hadn't found him I'd still be on the major downhill slide to living like looking forward to the end might be a blessing..pretty sad thought. So for me, the Igenex test was just kind of a 'proof on paper' of what I had thought all along and the 12th Dr I went to happened to have agreed. Hope you get treatment soon. When you call Igenex on Monday ask to speak to a supervisor right off the bat and insist that they transfer you to one, regardless of what they say. If that person doesn't handle the situation to your satisfaction, ask for their supervisor. I say this after having spent two full days duking it out with DISH Network last week, finally getting a top dog somewhere to approve the repair none of the underlings could manage to do.grrr. Wishing you well, yvonne _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Kenda Skaggs Sent: Friday, October 10, 2008 4:24 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Re: IgeneX complaint Hi, I received my IgeneX test results today, kind of. When my doctor filled out their requisition form, he phoned IgeneX to make sure he checked the appropriate boxes on their form to include a complete Lyme Western Blot and complete co-infection panel for our region. He was told the code to mark, he questioned the woman because it didn't appear to include the Lyme tests but she insisted that it did. Well, it didn't. Today I received my co-infection results with no Lyme results. He phoned and questioned IgeneX about this and he was told that he marked the inappropriate box. Duh... They do still have my blood so he requested the Lyme tests be run now and faxed a note stating the same. I received a phone call from IgeneX asking if I approved the order, even though it is being run on my doctor's professional account. I approved it but was told I was have to talk to another woman in the office who told me that I couldn't approve it and they would have to speak with my doctor on Monday, even though he sent the fax approving the charges today!! What incompetence! I asked if I could speak with someone else to make a complaint and she told me to phone my own doctor! I told her I wanted to file a complaint with IgeneX for the way this has been handled, not complain about my own doctor. She told me to phone on Monday and when I asked her her name, she hung up on me! I'm so angry! Of course it's Friday and I can't do anything until Monday. I tested negative for all co-infections with the exception of B. Microti Antibody G/M which is the Babesia microti test. My result was 1:80 IgG, which is in the " may suggest evidence of infection " category. Do most of you treat for Babesia with similar results? Ten more days of waiting for the Lyme panel. Now I'll have to visit Dr. C without Lyme results on Tuesday. Thanks for your help! Kenda
