Guest guest
I also have acid reflux (GERD) and will embark on antibiotic treatment - I was told to take prilosec daily - I used to take Nexium but now just manage my GERD with diet/nutrition. How much can antibiotics mess up my stomach and esophagus? I did 3 wks of doxy 100mgBID but I think that wasn't enough- I go to LLMD this week to see what next regimen will be. Guest guest
I just joined this group TODAY! I am happy to see a full crew of people who understand. I too have acid reflux (bioreflux/GERD). it is very pesky and painful! I can't eat too close to bedtime, sleep with a propped pillow and on my left side, and take nexium nightly. idk if the nexium is helping but i guess we'll see! I have been on it for like a month now, and it isn't really doing much. i havn't definately been diagnosed, but we are preparing as we wait for the igx testing to come back. i am 13 and in 8th grade now and my stomach problems started in 4th grade, unexplained. i now belive that that is where my Lyme all began, and it was just recently aggrivated last year when soccer kicked off. I was out more than 3/4 of the year last year from school, and now started 8th grade with only 4 out of 14 or 16 days. its going on the 4 week of school this week and i am not in the routine yet. i may have to turn to homeschooling. Anyway, a while back within the year i got a endoscopy which showed somewhere around 10 ulcers in my gastric track. It hurts so badly but they ended up treating me for H-Pylori infection and another pill to help the coating. it seems to have helped as I am 4 or 5 months down the road from the treatment for that. i am not having severe ulcer pain, but my acid is still bad. I am going to start an a Market America Probiotic to see what that does. it should help, idk. I am 2 weeks into waiting for igx testing and that will tell us, it being my 3rd or 4th Lyme test, if I really have it. The other tests were just silly cheesy inaccurate ones, so ill have to see what this one tells. But i keep in contact with loads of Lymies and all of them agree that i must have Lyme, even the recent LLMD.... I can't answer too many of the ?s about how the reflux will be annoyed by treatment, but i can say that I know a good probiotic will help, and not a cheesy wal-mart brand either. i also can say that i completely understand and I know where you are. i am sorry we have to go through this. its really hard! idk if ill ever hurx from antibiotics when i start but i can tell you that i don't think my stomach will be too happy. A firend of mine takes all Market America vitamins and probiotics with helpful digestive enzymes and acidopholus. She claim s that the medicine helped her to not hurx. im willing to try it, its just an easy dust that you mix with 2 oz. water and take before every meal. You get trhe jist. i am also soon starting a diet and excercise program, along with a possible pool therapy program, to help with the Lyme treatment. I do not have any antibiotics yet but i am taking natural replacements. Cats Claw, Andrographis, Milk Thistle, Zyrtec+nasonex (for allergies), magnesium, epsom salt foot baths, and so much more i am clueless about.... Does it sound like we're doing a good job or heading in the right direction? Does anyone else try these exact same supplements or anything? i hate feeling alone so this is my way of letting others know how i am doing with different things, and how i understand. Sorry about the lengthy boring letter, forgive me! God bless! xo Elaina > > I also have acid reflux (GERD) and will embark on antibiotic treatment - I > was told to take prilosec daily - I used to take Nexium but now just manage my > GERD with diet/nutrition. > > How much can antibiotics mess up my stomach and esophagus? > > I did 3 wks of doxy 100mgBID but I think that wasn't enough- I go to LLMD > this week to see what next regimen will be. > > MP > > > > **************Psssst...Have you heard the news?
