Guest guest
Dear Kato109@...: You may wish to consider a short fast, juice, urine, or lemonade (Master Cleanse) then begin a raw foods diet for a while, leafy greens, veggies, fruits, nuts and sprouts. http://www.living-foods.com/index.shtml That should straighten out your rumbling bowel problem. Sometimes we focus so much on cleaning the bowels, we forget that it is extremely important what we put into the bowels every day. Also consider taking some digestive enzymes with your meals. Very important. See http://www.living-foods.com/articles/enzymes.html. Everyone should read this; it should be required reading. No offense, but I would ditch the Oriental Medicine Doctor. He sounds like he's protecting his turf and keeping you strung out on his herbs. That keeps his income flow at a steady level, but you suffer. Eat pure raw foods for a while, and I believe you'll see your other problems start to fade away, because you're no longer feeding them with denatured food. Trying to kill off specific bacteria, virus or fungus with specific herbs is very close to the western model of using specific antibiotics to kill specific germs. It doesn't work for the western model. Work to make the overall body healthy, and the various imbalances will heal themselves. Good luck ---------- >From: Kato109@... >Bowelcleanseonelist >Subject: Thank You >Date: Wed, Jun 9, 1999, 9:55 PM > >From: Kato109@... > >Dear Dusan and everyone, > >just wanted to say thank you very much to Dusan for his long informative >letter and to everyone who answered my post. Guest guest
Amber, Please don't feel guilty, I appreciate the risk you took expressing your fears. I also appreciate the opportunity to discuss a very real issue for this group, one we don't get to discuss very often. I don't know where you live but if there is a transplant support group nearby you may want to stop in and chat with the folks there. The one here in Miami has a great group of people pre & post transplant. There is nothing horrible or wrong with your thoughts. Guest guest
Amber, you are NOT a horrible person, and have nothing to feel guilty about. I think that you have just expressed fears and doubts that many of us have, but havent the courage to say it. I hope you work it all out so that whatever your decision is, it will be the right one for you. love anita > > From: " J. Guest guest
Hi, I am so sorry about your friend. Your search for the right words to say, yes I know how you feel. When my wonderful mother-in-law was dying of cancer we went through a rough time as a (large) family with many ups and downs. Some of us to this day cannot use the words death or cancer and always pretended that things will get better. Other had health problems from the stress. We turned for help to mayn sources. The most profound support we received from the local priest who. much to our surprise, gave us his copy of " The Tibetan book of living and dying " . My husband read it and quoted from it every day. Below is a little excerpt I got from this link: http://rigpa.org/WIR/TBLD/Ch_11.html I hope you will find peace of mind. Sophie " Don't try to be too wise; don't always try to search for something profound to say. You don't have to do or say anything to make things better. Just be there as fully as you can. And if you are feeling a lot of anxiety and fear, and don't know what to do, admit that openly to the dying person and ask his or her help. This honesty will bring you and the dying person closer together, and help in opening up a freer communication. Sometimes the dying know far better than we how they can be helped, and we need to know how to draw on their wisdom and let them give to us what they know. Guest guest
Theresa and All, This post reminded me that we may not updated you all on our current group settings. The group is now set up to allow members into the group right away, but the default is set to moderate. What that means is someone who has just signed up and writes their first post will have their message go before a moderator. We do not do this for the content of the message...only to make sure it is not spam. If the post is not an offer to buy breast enlarging lotions (or whatever they think people will buy through internet offer) we will be able to detremine we have a valid member and change that member's seting to " unmoderate " and the posts will go up as soon as you hit send. Since this group is made up of many familiar members it was also possible to immediately change folks over to unmoderated status. There are still a few new members that have signed up, and have yet to post...and because we may not recognize the member ID have left them moderated until we can verify it is bona fide. You probably have noticed that is doing his usual fine job of moderating and keeping our techical house in order. Ann now also has moderator status...so any of the three of us can try to help is you need to change something or have some questions. What a week! Guest guest
Hi Nan, What time are you coming in on the 26th. We do not have to be at the airport until 5pm. Here I am acting like I can go 24/7. Depending on how well I handle the trip and my 2 appointments I would love to meet you if only for 5 minutes. Joyce E [ ] Thank you Thank you all so much for responding to me the other night. My job loss was due to budgetory cuts and not anything to do with the surgery. I knew that the possibility of this would come up sometime in March, but I just wasn't prepared for it this soon. Our company was bought out by Siemens Health last year and there has been problems with merging of the two groups in certain depts. I will survive, it just makes it tough now, with surgery on the horizon, to look for another. But I am calm and I do believe that when one door closes, another soon opens.Joyce, it looks like I will just miss you in St. Louis. I am coming in Thurs. the 26th and leaving on the 30th. I am sorry, but I will be thinking of you. Kam, I guess I will see you in the hospital that weekend as I will just be passing the time until Monday's round of appts. I will be more than happy to walk the halls with you!Peace to all,Nan

Guest guest
You're welcome, I think it helps me to know that there are other people going through the same stuff as I am. I mean my family is really supportive, but I think they get a little bit tired of me being this way. I think it's hard b/c there is no outward proof that I am in a lot pf pain. I mean I guess if I had a cast or something they would be able to sympathize a little bit more. Does anyone else feel as though b/c they have been dealing with the pain for so long that you learn just how to deal with it in order to get through the day? Does that make sense? I mean like when I told one of the dr's that I cook, but I do a lot of it sitting down on a stool, I alternate between sitting and standing, b/c I can't do either for very long. Anyway, I am rambling....but I like it here, I think I get some good information and talk to other people who are going through the same thing.
