Guest guest
I've seen a few posts asking about LDN and steroids but have never seen an answer/experience/suggestion from anyone. I just started my fourth month on LDN (4.5 mg from the start) and have been thrilled so far with the slow but steady improvements, but this morning I woke up with vertigo and any of you with MS who have experienced that...yikes. So I breathed deep and slow...it eventually ended...and started three more times...and is over. My concern is "why" after I could finally lay my head flat and should I take my Predisone because there probably is some swelling in my brain? Of course this happens on the weekend... Thank you for any input!

Guest guest
Hi , You probably don’t see the responses to the questions being asked as when one responds to a question, it automatically goes directly to that person, not the whole group unless you ‘respond to all’. I responded to another lady today who asked the same question. Here was my response I found myself in the same dilemma last year when I had a flare up. I was prescribed oral steroids – 40mg of prednisone for 1 week, then taper off by 5mg every 3 days. I came off the LDN to let the steroids do their work as I was led to believe that taking the two wouldn’t work and cancel each other out ie one boosts the immune system and the other suppresses it. Having finished the course of steroids, my flare didn’t really clear up and the Drs put me on the same course which annoyed me somewhat as if it didn’t work the first time, why should it work the second time? Also, I heard varying reports of taking LDN and steroids and as LDN boosts the endorphins that modulate the immune system (doesn’t boost the immune system), LDN actually works with steroids. So I tried the both and I had a much better result from combining the two than coming off LDN so judging from my experience I would recommend you stay on the LDN while taking steroids. Dr Ian Zagon who is the founder/researcher of LDN has always said you can combine LDN with steroids but somehow the workings of LDN got translated into ‘boosting the immune system’ so it wouldn’t make sense to combine with steroids which ‘suppress the immune system’. Also, LDN is a bio therapy meaning you can combine it with other treatments, just not opiates. Jayne Crocker www.LDNNow.comImportant!
