Hi Caroline,

Thank you so very much for expressing our 'needs' so extremely well! The

references I made to the " problem areas " we have in this issue were

observations made by those we are trying to obtain support from, and

expressed to me. I have been reluctant to report these problems, which have

apparently been with this issue from the beginning, because I have

personally not been able to come up with a good solution to resolve these

matters.

When I approached Sheila Lee as a member of the Judiciary committee,

I was told that they would have to do what their constituent wanted and it

was not the same desire as mine. I told her that as a member of a

committee, her decisions represented ALL of us. I guess her constituent

won.

Hi Pam & All,

Pam, thank you for your input re these 'problems'! I would like to add that

sometime after I spoke at the IOM meetings in '98, one of the same you've

mentioned told me that NO professional DC women would wear shoes like I was

wearing (basic navy pumps with 2 " heels & a few small gold studs on

them) --- " Professional DC Women ONLY wear very low heel shoes! " " Texas

Women are simply too 'Polly'! " I about died laughing on the spot!

There is more I could tell, yet I think I'll leave it at this!
