Guest guest
this sounds like disaster to me. as I remember your TSH was quite high. IMO you will need to take 3-5 grains of Armour every day, but first get adrenal support, and iodine is soooo helpful. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com Gracia Thanks so much! I think that is what I'm going to do... I thought maybe taking 1/2 grain a day might do it.. but I don't know if I can split the pill. palma joshi <dholakia72@...> wrote: it looks like your levels build up really quickly so you probably do need to take a day off here and there or you might want to try taking your dose every other day................... Guest guest
You might be able to take a full one day and then skip the next. I think I heard sometime ago that it is cummulative over time, so going everyother day might be a good option. Guest guest
Crystal, We found out with the cohort of posters that came in with Sam, that our mystery moderator accumulates applicants for up to several weeks and then turns them all on at the same time. Tell him to just be patient. OTC thyroid preparations by law can only contain at most about 5% of the usual levels of thyroxine in Armour. That means someone who is borderline has a remote chance of finding some benefit, but basically these preparations are a very expensive way to eat beef. This is different from by-passing prescription requirements, which is what some posters claim to do. > Okay, I got an email form someone who is trying to start posting, but > whoever the moderator is hasn't let him yet.... Guest guest
Well, I just bought an ove the counter vitamin from my doctor called thytrophin PMG. It says it contains bovine thyroid PMG extract (Processed to remove its thyroxine). But I don't really know what that means. Taking it made me feel hyperT though, so maybe it does have thyroid hormones in it? Sorry i couldn't be more help! Okay, I got an email form someone who is trying to start posting, but whoever the moderator is hasn't let him yet. He has a question that I don't know the answer to so I am posting it here. He/she wants to know if glandulars sold over the counter (non-prescription) cannot contain thyroid hormones? Thanks. Crystal
Guest guest
That is my understanding. If it contains thyroid hormones that makes it a prescribed medicine. However, I believe there are a few here who self treat and manage to get Armour without a prescription somehow. I don't know how. > > question > <hypothyroidism/message/30332;_ylc=X3oDMTJxdXIzMGN\ sBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE1BGdycElkAzE0NTY2NARncnBzcElkAzE3MDkyNTEwODIEbXNnSWQDMzAzMzIEc2V\ jA2Rtc2cEc2xrA3Ztc2cEc3RpbWUDMTE4NjIxODY1OQ--> > > > > Posted by: " sweetenloe1 " sweetnwright@... > <mailto:sweetnwright@...?Subject=%20Re%3Aquestion> > sweetenloe1 <sweetenloe1> > > > Fri Aug 3, 2007 9:17 pm (PST) > > Okay, I got an email form someone who is trying to start posting, but > whoever the moderator is hasn't let him yet. Guest guest
Hi all, I have been instructed to take 2 x 30mg armour in the evening. My last results were TSH = 12 and T4 = 8.5. I have been taking 1 x 30mg in the morning. I am well and havnt had any problems but recently been struggling with life - I dont have any reason to get out of bed. I dont know what is wrong with me. Can anyone out there relate to this? And something else - if I have a drink of alcohol, i feel like doing something, otherwise I just want to sleep or laze about. Anyone else out there with similar problems? - I hope so x Chuck B <gumboyaya@...> wrote: Crystal, We found out with the cohort of posters that came in with Sam, that our mystery moderator accumulates applicants for up to several weeks and then turns them all on at the same time. Guest guest
Suzanne, What you describe is classic hypoT, with classic under treatment. However, your doctor may be doing the old titration method of gradually increasing your dosage, so you don't accidentally over shoot and don't induce cardiac problems. You won't feel well until you get a larger dose, probably much larger. Also, please specify the lab ranges for your test results. Except for TSH, these can vary widely. Guest guest
Awww, honey, I'm so sorry you feel this way. Don't worry though, because things will deffinitely improve. Depression, anxiety, etc. are all hypoT symptoms. You will probably need to increase your dosage but the good thing about Armour is that it goes into your system fast. While it may be psychological, there is just as much of a chance if not more that you are feeling this was because of your thyroid. My mood got soo much better after starting Armour. Don't worry hun, there's a light at the end of this tunnel. In a message dated 8/4/07 4:06:13 PM, suegeoboo@... writes: > > Hi all, > I have been instructed to take 2 x 30mg armour in the evening. Guest guest
Hi Suzanne, Welcome! I was going to say basically the same things as Chuck. However, I am wondering why your doctor would have you take your meds at night. To me having the T3 of Armour in the morning would help you get thru your day better. That makes no sense to me. How about anyone else? You say you are feeling well but with TSH of 12, that can definitely be why you just want to sleep. I don't feel like doing much of anything if my TSH gets to be 3 or higher and there have been times when it was around 2 and I felt awful. Anyway, does anyone know why her doctor is telling her to take Armour at night? Guest guest
Well, that would make more sense but even taking the second one at night seems strange to me. I split mine by taking it at 6:30 a.m. and then I take the other dose around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. It helps give me a lift. Thanks Chuck. Venizia > > ... I was using " night " in a very loose sense, since that is the word she used. The last thing you want is a monster stimulant right before bed. Late afternoon would be best for the second dose, especially if you go to bed early and rise early, as Ben lin said. Chuck
