Ok so my question is last weekend my friend and I were stopped at a stop light and was rear ended from a van going about 35-40 miles a hour and she didnt' slow down at all. I had my seat belt on but I seem to have been more stiff and sore since then.. Could it have done more damage from getting hit from someone going that slow? Guest guest
I agree: that is not slow! Think of a stop sign or even front of a building taken at 35-40mph! I had the exact same rear-ending happen to me, but I don't have any hardware or fusions. My neck pain/stiffness was no worse afterward than before, but I have a disorder of the neck muscles. (I've used that rear ending story to explain my baseline neck pain to my doctor, who seems a little more sympathetic now. LOL.) In my own experience, my " pain complex " doesn't always allow me to know when new damage has occurred. Sometimes I mistake it for an extra bad day, sometimes it melds into my existing stuff and goes unnoticed until the next time an X-ray or other test is done. > > lisa, > > 35-40 mph is not slow. would you stand in front of a car going that fast? rear end > collisions, especially those where the the impacted vehicle is stationery, can cause severe > spinal injury even at speeds as low as 5-10 mph, tho rare. hyperflexion/hyperextension injuries > aka whiplash, are commonly induced by rear end/front end collisions. the head is flung back and then whips forward > with an equal and opposite force. its newton's third law of physics. so an implied force of > 35-40 mph is therefore applied to your neck. thats certainly enough to induce significant > injury and you should definitely tell your physician. > > dr bob > > > > > > > ________________________________ > From: <ljorichardson0912@...> > neck pain ; spinal problems > Sent: Fri, October 30, 2009 9:49:44 PM > Subject: Question > > > > I am the one that has asked several questions, sorry if I ask too many but here goes. Guest guest
I was hit by a car a couple years ago, after back and neck fusions, plus knee replacements. I waited a couple days, thinking I was just bruised. I sure was wrong, had a lawsuit going on after all that, and had to have more injections, physical therapy and lots of time spent at the dr. Weight can fluctuate when your body is switching over from running on sugar to running on good fats. If you have you ever gained weight before your body will retrace the ups and downs with it too. Guest guest
not sure where the ziplocks are being placed. if the outer sponge doesn't contact your hand there will be no current flow. hand-sponge-battery-sponge-skin-hand is the circuit. if you place plastic anywhere in there it will open the circuit and nothing will flow. i will see if I can get a diagram up on this. bG > > Here's the situation--When I use the rods, I always have zip lock bags over the ends I keep in my hands. They work great (mostly used on jawbones, ears and back of neck). So I don't understand why the dime-sized batteries require wires connecting them in order to work. Can't I just be sure the opposite poles are touching the skin? tia pj >
Guest guest
I found 3v coin batteries and holders on ebay. You have to solder wires onto the holders to go to the sponges. If you use long antenna or speaker wires you can put the battery in a pocket and velcro the sponges on your knees, or wherever you want them, and walk around while zilling. The 3v batteries can even be stacked up in the holder to make 6volts. Soldering onto the holders is not a big problem if you know how. If you don't know how you could have a tv or radio repair do it for you, or maybe a student in electronics class. You don't want the holder touching the flesh or you will get burns. I use duct tape to cover the battery and holder. BG designed the God Rods to make it so simple that anyone can build one in about 5 minutes, or less. That is his goal; to get as many people using this remedy as possible. It does, however, have its limitations, and some of his previous designs are handier for certain applications. Check them out in the photos and try any if you are capable. I have about 6 different ones and find uses for almost all of them. Enjoy, Dick
Guest guest
Hi Liesel, There are two ways to put up xrays. One, you can go into our " Files " section and there is a file that explains one way (if you can open the file on your computer). Another way is to put the photo up over a large picture window, or while its on the lightbox in the doctors office...and just take a picture of it. Low tech, but it works. Looking forward to seeing yours...before and after! Take Care, Cam

Guest guest
Hi Liesel... You're first going to have to figure out if you can capture the image, or export it, and save it as a .jpg. I went to the Osirix web site and found a PDF that states " Selecting Export under the File menu allows you to export to Quicktime, jpeg, raw, tiff, DICOM, email and iPhoto. " Once you have the .jpg, you can follow the directions Cam posted about posting. Good luck. Guest guest
hi there no one in my family has aih that we know of, but many have autoimmune conditions ranging from vitiligo, thyroid issues, alpha1 anti trypsin deficiency, haemochromatosis.. I myself have a handful of ai conditions, fortunately they don't seem to have much of an impact - it's only that i've had every test under the sun in the course of my aih that we know about them. Apparently it is very common to have more than one AI condition and for it to tend in the family On Wed, Feb 10, 2010 at 3:05 PM, J <classylassy26150@...> wrote: > > > I just wrote a long update and am waiting for approval to send it out to > you all but I just thought of something I forgot to mention/ask about... > > The transplant doctor said he would almost guarantee someone else, a blood > relative of 's has the same auto immune disease...Is there anyone out > there who has encountered this same thing? Guest guest
I was diagnosed yesterday with Trigeminal Neuralgia. Has anyone else with cervical spinal stenosis and severe degeneration been diagnosed with this? What I'm wondering is if since nerves are being pinched in my neck and my spinal column is being compressed could this also cause Trigeminal Neuralgia? Doctor is sending me for an MRI. So now I'm on another medication. yippee ine
Guest guest
Hi ine, The trigeminal nerve does not come through the cervical spine, but is the 5th cranial nerve coming directly out of the base of the brain and going to areas of the face and mouth. I didn't see mention of cervical arthritic degeneration as a factor, but did see damage to the protective coating (myelin sheath) around the nerve because of compression by a blood vessel or in some cases by multiple sclerosis. There do seem to be several treatments that can be tried - even surgery. ( http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/trigeminal_neuralgia/detail_trigeminal_neural\ gia.htm ) I hope your pain is not too bad. I've heard it can be very severe. Guest guest
Thanks Rochelle... now you have me wondering something else. I had a cerebellar stroke in Nov 08 and I know the cerebellum is at the base of the spine. Guest guest
ine does you face hurt? we all have that with our tmj, and its very closely related with the neck. 5th cranial like Rochelle said. Guest guest
What I get is like an electrical shock by my right jaw. It's the most painful thing I have ever felt and I'm in pain 24/7 with my spinal issues. The shock feeling lasts about three or four seconds, which is a long time if you count it and you feel like someone is holding a live electrical wire to the side of your face. Doctor put me on Carbamazepine. Guest guest
Is your jaw ok ine? Because the jaw will play off the cervical neck problems. I was talking to a doctor who joined our jaw group, and he was saying he considers the jaw c-0 and the atlas c-1. thats how close they work together. My neck will shift and actually shift my whole jaw complex with it. Trimengial nerve pain OUCH. Mine just is an intense seering. But i have friends who experience what you described. Its very painful like sciatica in your face. Vitamin B is shutting off my face pain alot, But it makes me very HYPER. cindy > > What I get is like an electrical shock by my right jaw. > It's the most painful thing I have ever felt and I'm in pain > 24/7 with my spinal issues. > The shock feeling lasts about three or four seconds, > which is a long time if you count it and you feel like > someone is holding a live electrical wire to the side of > your face. > > Doctor put me on Carbamazepine. > > > > Re: Question > > > > > > Hi ine, > > > > The trigeminal nerve does not come through the cervical spine, but is the 5th cranial nerve coming directly out of the base of the brain and going to areas of the face and mouth. Guest guest
Hi . My jaw is fine as far as I know. I don't know if the upcoming MRI will show anything or not but so far the Carbamazepine seems to be working. I walk around in terror because I never know when another electrical shock will hit. Crazy way to live. My doctor also told me that when I finally do get to see a Neurosurgeon he may just send me to a pain clinic because the cervical degeneration is so severe. *sigh* ine Re: Question > > > > > > Hi ine, > > > > The trigeminal nerve does not come through the cervical spine, but is the 5th cranial nerve coming directly out of the base of the brain and going to areas of the face and mouth. Guest guest
> > > > ( http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/trigeminal_neuralgia/detail_trigeminal_neural\ gia.htm ) > > > > I hope your pain is not too bad. Guest guest
Oh I understand the terror ine. I go to the chiro all the time because i have a shifting Atlas(c1)but anyway, even if my neck is ok that moment, I live in a constant FEAR of it. I'm afraid its going to shift, and it does. But I get afraid to move! You live in fear of the next time! Fear of moving your body. When is it going to get you next! It is a bad way to live. > > Hi . Guest guest
, Being jerked awake with rapid heart rate is a sign of sleep apnea. It's a common sleep disorder and it could be related to Lyme, although it's not always related to Lyme. I was diagnosed by going to a sleep center where I live. Now I use what is called a CPAP machine, which helps correct the apnea during sleep. Ask your doctor about that or look up a sleep center in your area. I don't know about the elevated blood sugar. That could be due to something else. But if they're not diagnosing you with any type of diabetes, I would just cut out sugar and see if that helps.
