Guest guest
Hi there - I just received my test results back from Igenex and am a bit confused. The clinic I go to suggested more confirmation tests something called an epitope, however another Lyme doctor indicated to start treatment. Here they are: IFA - 1:80 titer IgM Igenex - Positive IgM CDC - Negative 23-25 + 31 ++ 34 + 39 IND 41 ++ 66 + 83-93 IND IgG Igenex - Positive IgG CDC - Negatvie 31 - + 39 - + 41- ++ I have read that the PCR often gives false negatives. I have had episodic bouts of illness now for 6 years and would like to begin treating. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much
Guest guest
, A positive IgG means you have Lyme. Period. It indicates that you have had Lyme in the past, and Lyme doesn't just go away. You have so many positives on so many bands, but you may not have enough positive bands to fufill the CDCs Lyme criteria. Forget about the blasted CDC. There are 3 things that will explain this further. One is a good LLMD. The 2nd is the 5 time award winning documentary, " Under Our Skin, " by Andy Abramhams . The 3rd help will come from Pamela Weintraub's book, " Cure Unknown. " Please seek help ASAP. My son only tested positive on his IgG. Because of that, his treatment was delayed. His LLMD is horrified by the damage that has resulted because of that delay. Don't let it happen that way for you. Take very good care of yourself and write us soon to tell us who you've found. anne From: alrightguy123 <alrightguy123@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Help Reading Igenex Lyme Results Date: Friday, September 5, 2008, 4:56 PM My IgeneX results said I needed to send in more blood and money. Guest guest
Phyl, I'm sorry you're going through this. We all agree that lyme is nothing to mess with. And I think we all agree that you ought to do something as soon as possible especially at the beginning stages of the disease, where you still sort of are. That's a large part of the problem right there - the need to be fully up-to-speed on a very complex subject at the very beginning of the situation. You originally told us that you have no tolerance for oral a/b, so we have been trying to give you information on alternatives, like Buhner's book. My own unqualified opinion (because I'm still pretty new) is that you need to do something *now* - if IV a/b is what you have lined up, then go for it. Please also get Buhner's book. He has specific protocols that you can follow on your own, for lyme and the other co-infections, and clues about whether you are experiencing any of the co-infections. Good luck, Daisy > > All the doctor is going on with me is that I > have Lyme antibodies. Monday I start IV > Doxicillin. It appears that I'll get it twice > a day for 20 days. Guest guest
Thank you Anne I have been suffering with weird symptoms that occur episdically for six years now. Does the IgM mean that you were just exposed? I know that this is not possible. I am episodic right now so it would make sense for it to be active. With most things docs are worried about active Igm results. I am not sure why they want me to do more tests rather than treating me. How would I go about finding a LLMD in Southern CA? I don't want to continue to go to the CFS and Fibro clinic I am going to if they don't see the urgency of these tests. What type of treatment is your son on and how is he doing now? Thank you for your help =) > > , > A positive IgG means you have Lyme. Period. It indicates that you have had Lyme in the past, and Lyme doesn't just go away.
