Guest guest
I am on my (yes i am counting down) 19th day of rocpehin, my spinal came up postive and i am being treated for neuro lyme. I also had a 14 day course or doxycycline, before the neuro signs appeared. I am saddened for everyone who has gone undiagnosed for sol long and is now paying the consequences. It is also so disheartening that the labs can be so inconclusive. We think my lyme was caught relatively early, i did have the classic rash, but what does this mean for me?? The spirochete entered my Spinal fluid so rapidly it didnt really matter how early it was caught. It has been a very rough month for me, some days better than others but i do see light at the end of the tunnel. My test came back positive My IGG was negative with only 2 reactive bands 23 and 41 My IGM was positive with 3 reactive bands 23,29 and 41. Making my western blot positive with 5 total reactive bands. I am not sure what this all means in realation to acute chronic or what not, but i am happy i am treated and i am praying for a full recovery. It can be a long raod with neuro lyme (lyne in general) but i hope and pray for all of you. I watched the trailor for " Under the skin " and it really frightened me. good luck

Guest guest
That's what said not nearly as difficult as treating adults with lyme. Guest guest
?? Waste of money. He obviously has Lyme. Never heard of any LLMD doing this, ever. Take your Igenix test and go to another doctor for treatment. One week of Flagyl??AandrayaOn Feb 20, 2012, at 9:30 PM, Linds J <lj_mom11@...> wrote: This is on my son. Guest guest
I was going to say also, this just does not seem like one week would be long enough to treat him. I've used Flagyl several times for protozoan parasites... but for Lyme you need something really strong and fairly long course. From: "Aandraya" <aandraya@...>bird mites Sent: Monday, February 20, 2012 9:38:29 PMSubject: Re: western blot ?? Guest guest
I agree. One week might make things worse for him. His lyme is chronic since he got it in utero most likely. Long term abx are necessary. Many dr.'s don't treat kids. Try to find one that knows...maybe your new dr. on 3/1? Guest guest
Pretty sure any 31 or 34 band means he's had it more than 2 years (obviously). It is a chronic infection and not acute. An LLMD should know a week of abx won't make a dent in chronic lyme. Also, I breastfed my son for a short while. There are pluses and minuses in terms of lyme...you do produce specific antibodies in colostrum...it is better to err on the side of caution, but breastfeeding was still a great thing for you to do for your son. Maybe someone on this site knows of an LLMD that treats kids closer to you? is pretty far. If you call there office they might recommend someone. They actually gave me a list of LLMD's they work with... On Feb 21, 2012 7:14 AM, " Elissa " <elissarachel@...> wrote:I agree. One week might make things worse for him.
