Hi Penny,I am glad you found a doctor willing to listen to you. I have learned that many of us are having a hard time finding a doctor willing to prescribe this medicine. Since we have a lot of people just arriving this or other LDN groups your story may inspire them.Crystal is keeping a list of doctors, I think her doctors list are having names of prescribing doctors outside USA and Canada as well. There is a lot we can do to prepare ourselves before asking our GP's. It's funny how the specialists don't want to listen, and they often tell you to ask your family doctor if they feel uncomfortable in prescribing a medicine they may be never have heard about.Arm yourself to the teeth with good info to bring

with you to your doctor. Don't overload him / her, they don't have too much time. I researched LDN myself in 2007, and printed out 8 pages. I highlighted the most important info:how you write the prescriptionis there any known side effectsis there any places your doctor can call to find out more before he prescribesIf your doctor don't grab the point immediately, tell him to read the papers you gave him, and ask for another appointment later. Your doctor is a responsible person and doesn't want to prescribe something that he doesn't know at all. If we come to our doctor and say that we have found something on the internet, the alarm will start to beep inside his head.As I understand, a lot of people, like you, really tries to do all the neccessary homework, yet they will find their doctors denying to write a

script. IngridFrom: Penny <praff1961@...>low dose naltrexone Sent: Wed, April 6, 2011 3:46:38 PMSubject: [low dose naltrexone] LDN & Doctors

Hi Everyone,I ordered LDN from Canada and have been taking it since July for Fibromyalgia with great success. After dealing with much frustration with several doctors that wouldn't listen and just wanted to push pills, I decided it was time for a change. I emailed Crystal for a list of doctors in MD that would prescribe LDN. All were too far away. A friend of mine suggested I see his doctor that was very opened minded. Well, I saw him on Monday and really liked him. I had made up my mind that I was going to tell him I was on the LDN with great success and would keep taking it regardless if he prescribed it or not. You know how they always ask you what meds you are on? After telling him the LDN, he ask where I was obtaining it from. In a very small voice I said "Canada". He just grinned and said you have to watch where you get stuff in Canada. So I started asking him if he knew about

LDN. To my surprise he did! He told me that he did research studies on it at Hopkins in Baltimore a few years back. He said that it has the ability to do some wonderful and amazing things. We ended up taking for about 45 mins. with him seeming intriged by the ways LDN has helped me. He didn't write a prescription and was OK with me getting it from Canada as long as I went with a reputable source. Wow! So much anxiety has been lifted.Penny ------------------------------------
