Guest guest
The general advice for cancer is to get up to 100mg as quickly as possible. This is a case where putting up with some detox feelings/symptoms is considered worth it because of the time pressure the illness presents. Many people jump in at 50mg with no problems. If he is taking the full companion nutrients, then I'd suggest starting there, give it 7-10 days, then bump it 25mg more, then again. If he feels tired or sleepy (it would be detox), it's a good time to just give in to that and sleep as much as possible. Headaches are another matter of course. If detox becomes intolerable, back off the iodine a notch and see how that feels, then move up more slowly. Some people have severe detox with lower doses, and less severe with higher doses. How quickly depends on how the person feels and how they are doing. Salt loading can be used for 2-3 days to get detox symptoms to subside, but it shouldn't be used for more than 4 days in a row-- it means the body is detoxing too hard and the iodine dose should be lowered a notch. Salt loading: Take 1/2 teaspoon unrefined salt in 8 oz of water (warm is sometimes easier for people to take). THen drink another 12 oz of clean water. If urination does not start within 30 minutes, take the salt again. Once urination starts, the toxins wash out of the body and the symptoms subside. I've done it and it's amazing how well it works. CAUTION: Salt Loading is separate from the daily salt dose that is the companion nutrient. The fully daily salt companion dose is always taken, regardless. -- At 09:03 AM 11/23/2010, you wrote: >Thanks so much for all the input! > >I have tried to distil the digest (how I receive these emails) and have >saved the whole thing for more reading. > >I have also suggested to dad lipotropic Vitamin C and low-dose >naltrexone. Guest guest
In the US, the EPA placed a ban on it for golf courses in starting in 2009, but it is still being phased during this year.  And while most countries have banned it completely . . . according to Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bromomethane :  "Whereas the Montreal Protocol has severely restricted the use of bromomethane internationally, the United States has successfully lobbied for critical-use exemptions. In 2004, over 7 million pounds of bromomethane were applied to California. Applications include tomato, strawberry, and ornamental shrub growers, and fumigation of ham/pork products." (bromomethane is methyl bromide) I recall two people on this list talking about their negative experience with CA strawberries.  It is outlawed in many places except the US.  In a message dated 11/23/2010 10:04:46 P.M. Guest guest
Hi ..Unfortunately, the critical use exemption to which you refer has kept most of the carcinogenic pesticides in common use. BarbF obbied for critical-use exemptions. In 2004, over 7 million pounds of bromomethane were applied to California. Applications include tomato, strawberry, and ornamental shrub growers, and fumigation of ham/pork products." I was hoping to send her some info on it. Thanks, Louise
