Guest guest
My own personal answer to that is a most definite YES. Though the first time infected took about a week before symptoms when I was bit just a year later and reinfected it was only a matter of a day or two. Second time did leave a tell-tale rash/bulls-eye. First time did not. A rash is not always present, as I learned. The longer you wait for treatment the harder it is to treat because it can enter vital organs and the brain where the body's lymphatic systems can prevent antibiotic treatment from being as effective. Not trying to alarm you. I salute you for taking this much action now. But, do get busy on the proper tests and protocols a.s.a.p. for the sake of peace of mind, if for no other eventuality. I'll send a few angels. This is far hard enough on adults like me, much more so where the sake of a child is concerned. In November my husband and I took our two boys to the California coast near Gualala, Ca. While there the first day my oldest son found a very tiny tick on him. I beleive it was a deer tick nymph. It was on his pants leg and we didnt think much of it. It didnt bite him as far as we could tell but later that evening he became ill feeling. He went and laid down and had severe fatigue and night sweats all night long. We figured he had gotten a 24 hour flu and the following morning he felt better. The next day we headed for home and suddenly from the back seat he screamed that something had just bit him. We pulled the car over and sure enough the was a deer tick that had bit his stomach, not once but twice. I took pics a week later and the bite marks were still there but no rash. After that he started complaining of " body pain " he said his whole body hurt and he was very tired feeling. He said his bones hurt. I took him to the dr. and they did western blot test and it came back negative but his sedimentation rate was very elevated. Dr. then ordered Epstein Barr test and it came back positive. Dr. said he has mononeucleosis. My question is can lyme make you instantly sick? or was the illness he originally had unrelated? It's all confusing. Any info or input would be greatly appreciated. Guest guest
Dear Angel - Everyone is different to what the immune system will do after you get bit........I was very ill after my bit over 25 years ago and they played that off as a really bad case of mono........a mono that never went away. Please find a LLMD in your area and get some correct testing done........a LLMD will know what real tests for you to get done. The sooner the better....trust me...with myself and my three girls battling this disease the sooner the better!! diane ________________________________ From: Errol <renaissancelute@...> Sent: Mon, January 3, 2011 11:16:10 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Hi all new mom to the group  My own personal answer to that is a most definite YES. Guest guest
I grew up near Mammoth, CA, from birth till leaving home at 18. But I got bit on the coast, near Santa Cruz. Mendocino County, were Gualala is, is Ground Zero for Lyme in California. The worst patch of all in inland from there, near Ukiah, where Phyllis Mervine lives. (I used to own some property just a few parcels over from her.) A lot of folks in Mendo have been struggling with this for decades. Sara On Jan 10, 2011, at 3:20 28PM, Nonerz wrote: > YES!
