I've been lurking here for a couple weeks. I wasn't sure what to say.

In November my husband and I took our two boys to the California coast near

Gualala, Ca.

While there the first day my oldest son found a very tiny tick on him. I

beleive it was a deer tick nymph. It was on his pants leg and we didnt think

much of it. It didnt bite him as far as we could tell but later that evening he

became ill feeling. He went and laid down and had severe fatigue and night

sweats all night long. We figured he had gotten a 24 hour flu and the following

morning he felt better.

The next day we headed for home and suddenly from the back seat he screamed that

something had just bit him. We pulled the car over and sure enough the was a

deer tick that had bit his stomach, not once but twice. I took pics a week later

and the bite marks were still there but no rash.

After that he started complaining of " body pain " he said his whole body hurt and

he was very tired feeling. He said his bones hurt.

I took him to the dr. and they did western blot test and it came back negative

but his sedimentation rate was very elevated. Dr. then ordered Epstein Barr test

and it came back positive. Dr. said he has mononeucleosis.

My question is can lyme make you instantly sick? or was the illness he

originally had unrelated? It's all confusing. Any info or input would be greatly

appreciated.

Thanks

Angel
