Guest guest
Okay, I should have checked here first: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvbid/lyme/ld_humandisease_diagnosis.htm The CDC explicitly says in its first line to diagnose Lyme Disease based on symptoms and not tests. " Lyme disease is diagnosed based on symptoms, objective physical findings (such as erythema migrans, facial palsy, or arthritis), and a history of possible exposure to infected ticks. " ------------------------------ STATISTICS: CDC says the number of reported cases are shown in: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvbid/lyme/ld_UpClimbLymeDis.htm -- about 30,000 confirmed cases in 2009. New York state says it has had over 77,000 cases since 1986. Its page says " Early treatment of Lyme disease involves antibiotics and almost always results in a full cure. However, the chances of a complete cure decrease if treatment is delayed. " .
