Guest guest
Thank you, Phyllis, for alerting us to the importance of contacting our local PBS stations, urging them to air " Under Our Skin " . I had assumed our station, WSKG in Binghamton, NY, was going to be airing the film when I had heard that PBS was showing it for Lyme disease awareness month . Turns out my assumption was wrong. I called the station when I saw other posts here asking for people to call, email, or otherwise twist the arms of their stations if they had no plans of airing this brilliant documentary anytime in the near future. The woman I spoke to here at WSKG said they did not have UOS on their agenda. She mentioned, as Phyllis says, that they can preview it on April 26. I urged her to please do so and to consider putting it in their lineup for the future. I then went to the station's website and wrote in the " comments " section a little bit about our family's Lyme disease history and how this film could help a lot of people in our area. I emailed friends and family, and included the link to the PBS station's website so they could do the same. For those acquaintances who live in other cities, I asked them to contact their local PBS stations and ask them to air " Under Our Skin " . I also included a link to the UOS website so people could get an idea of the film. I bumped into a friend the other day who told me she has a friend whose son works at the station and was putting in a good word for " Under Our Skin " . Hey....you never know! Fingers crossed and hoping it's aired here, there, and everywhere. Kaethe

Guest guest
I just emailed both of the PBS stations for the SF Bay Area. I hope they show it. The title is in their database, but it's not available On Demand (Xfinity/Comcast), even though Open Eye Pictures states that it is (on their website). I guess it's available On Demand somewhere! I hope our PBS stations are going to show it again. They must have at some point, or I don't think they would have it listed in their database. Here's to our health. Guest guest
Kaethe, good work. We have put the notice on all our state groups and are encouraging people to call in. The station doesn't have to schedule the film right away but they should download it from NETA on April 26. It CAN be downloaded later but will be more complicated. I think the more people who call their local PBS stations, the more likely they are to run it. A programmer of Channel 13 near NYC said if he had 500 calls or emails he would be more likely to run it. -- Phyllis Mervine CALDA www.lymedisease.org
