Guest guest
I would add that you should also confirm anyone who assists in your surgery is a covered provider. I assumed that because my hospital and my surgeon were preferred providers, I was all set. I had no input on who the anesthesiologist was, and I found out after surgery was over and I got the (HUGE) bill that they were NOT on my plan. This is a really common thing, apparently -- I was able to negotiate a little bit of a lower price but it was still a lot of money (thousands of dollars) and I ended up paying them more than anyone else...even my portion of the hospital bill and the surgeon's bill was not as much as I had to pay the anesthesiologist. When they are out of network, it's crazy expensive for me. Anyway -- make sure that ANYONE who is going to bill you is a network provider! :-) ~ Wendi
Guest guest
Any one have any experience with Blue Cross Catamount plan versus MVP Catamount plan (both are Vermont state insurance plans) and if so, did you have experience with them covering or denying IV antibiotics and also oral antibiotics?
