Guest guest
When I'm taking the doxy, I feel like crap! Night sweats, brain fog, fatigue through the roof, stomach and intestinal problems like never before. I know this is probably herx reaction, but still, it never goes away! When I went off the doxy for a couple weeks, I still had the brain fog and memory problems but I could function, I could get done in a day what needed to be done. My LLMD started me back on a much smaller dose (25 mg vs. 400 mg a day), to work up to a higher dose over months, but really, if I'm this sick on such a tiny dose, I don't know why I'm doing this! I need to be able to function during the days and sleep at night. (One side note: my LLMD has prescribed cholestipol, a cholesterol drug, not a statin, that is supposed to whisk toxins out of your bile before it processes into your body, and that seems to help a little, but only for a few hours after I take it, and I can't take it till lunch time. But for those of you not on a slew of other meds who have herx really bad, this is an option. Bonus for me, I have high cholesterol, so it should help that too.) But back to my original issue, I know there are other antibiotics out there that work, but I've heard doxy is the best. Has anyone opted to skip antibiotics completely? And if so, how did you do?
