Guest guest
I had a mediport placed on Thursday. I am about 3 days into it but after my first visit with a port nurse I am very worried about it. The nurse was clearly taken off guard when she saw my site. My incision is directly on top of the port. She said she never saw that before, that the typical incision would be above the port. Also, I left the hospital with what I thought was a clear dressing over the incision. When I went to get accessed and my first dose of abx the next day she said there was no dressing at all. It looked like there was but when she started cleaning the area it became clear it was just left exposed. Should I be freaking out about these things? My first response is to call the surgeon Monday am and tear into him, but I am just taking the word of one nurse at this pont. If anyone has experience or insight I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
