Hi,

I was never told that I couldn't sleep on my stomach. I think if it feel comfortable then that is OK. I am not a person that sleeps on my stomach so it wasn't an issue. I am not sure why it would affect your stomach.

Your welcome. This is a board for support. Someone was there when I had a million questions. Maybe one day you will do it for someone else.

  • 5 months later...

Hi,

Yesturday I was stuck for things to eat, so I had a few rice cakes (lightly salted) a pork chop (fat removed) green beans. went to bed at 11pm

I jumped up awake with a panic type feeling, felt like i needed to eat - 1am.

I ate two pieces of toast with peanut butter. A glass of milk and two cookies (I know Iam supposed to be dashing, so badly craved it and felt like i needed it, wasn't quite with it).

I then couldnt sleep until 4am. I then woke up at 9am feeling very sick, swollen, ears ringing, angry, agrevated, boiling hot, couldn't tolerate the heating being on, the noise the heating was making was even winding me up ..

This happens alot and i always seem to wake up at the same sort of time and can never seem to sleep until 4am..

Ive gone back to day on a no carb diet , veggies chicken, eggs etc no salt and I now feel calmer, Ive just borrowed a BP monitor so i can monitor whats going on with my diet etc I took it and its 80/70.

Kindest regards

mandy

Hi . Thankyou for taking the time to reply, I have taken on board what you've said to me. Its on my mind all the time I need to give up. When i have tried to give up I start to go very tiered after a few hours, I can literally feel the tobbacco has worn off ..it almost feels like an energy source, I suppose it is a stimulant I suupose its part of the withdrawalls.. I dont smoke cigarettes I smoke rolling tobbacco with filters, I couldnt afford to smoke cigarrettes. Iam definatley giving up. I move into a flat on Monday will be easier for me to start living there. Ive had to live in supported housing as a stop gap and its been awful here. Its liek a half way house but theres a few mentally ill, drinkers with health problems and battered wifes..so its not a nice environment to be in but my nereves were so bad living at my parents as so scared of my Dad and his mood swings, was practiacly giving me adrenal insufficency symptoms. Thank you I am definatley going to start, I Move in monday. Iam still not convinced its PA. Ive been reading about Hypoparathyroid and i have had problem with my calcium. Ive read about how tea, coffee caffine makes calcium leach out in the urine and causes a spasm. tetny, bone problems..and my spasm is down the right side..that fits my symptoms aswell. Ive seen my brother today who is also now keeping a food diary, he is having joint bone pain, jaw problems, bowel symptoms, big mood swings etc..I can see teh same symptoms he can have a quite full puffy face or gaunt and his skin looks dehydrated like mine. My brother doesnt smoke, doesnt drink goes to teh gym ( but suffers due to diet problems). I also have candidas, when i first got ill there was a big crusty, exma looking rash growing up my lower back, fungus I get it in many ways.. When i went in hospital recently I had a bad infection, antibiotics to fght it which caused dioreah..then esculated with tummy pain, flu, shivering, vomiting, dioreah, low bp - I think it was Adrenal Insufficency I think I may have polyglandular or PA.

Hi Mandy

I'm like you - I eat small amounts several times a day so I don't go stark raving hunger mad. Here are a few things which work well for me.

Rhubarb - with honey, stewed and set aside in the fridge to go on an apple or carrot stick

Bananas - although I hate them and this is my last resort (petrol stations sell them here.

Cantaloupe and or honey do melon

Carrot sticks

Avacado on toast (bread without salt)

I'll bake a potatoe in the microwave, and add a bit of brocolli, or some other veg, I might even toss on some leftover meat from dinner

Tomatoes on toast (again no sodium or low sodium baked in bread)

I also like cheeries fresh from the tree, or apples - but these aren't as high in potassium. For the munchies - try pasta boiled, then when nice and cooked - bake with a spray of olive oil, and toss with something for flavour - like pepper (my personal fave)

V8 - low sodium vegetable juice with a dash of Worcestershire sauce I've made myself with no salt -- and a bit of hot sauce to spice, a bit of celery and I actually feel like I'm having a cocktail - even though I don't drink.

Make wedges with a bit of olive oil spray and a potatoe - dip in home made salsa (lime juice, onion, tomato, lemon juice, and cilantro) YUM!

For the Wrocestershire sauce - use:

Malt vinegar (from barley), white wine or red wine vinegar, molasses, sugar, tamarind extract, onions, garlic, spice, and flavouring SPICE= cloves and pepper. It's very similar in flavour to the regular.

I know it's hard - but you don't necessarily have to limit calories just salt. Since I've dashed to the max per the Grim Master, I have dropped almost 20 kgs without counting calories. (and the weight just keeps falling off - I am more mobile without all the muscle cramps and aches).

Dashing means you have to be careful with anything in a packet, and if you're keen there are recipes which others have posted on the site. Anything prepacked is probably full of sodium - so avoid packaged flavourings, sauces, soups, etc.

If I'm not sure what a food contains in the way of salt- I opt for anything fresh --- fruit or veg. Be on the lookout as bottled water, milk, and even some fruit juices have loads and loads of sodium.

Cheers

Sue

I have just found a low sodium spuds'n Chives Potato soup dried soup mix. 172 mg per serving. Also noting at Whole Foods lower salt noodles in a cup. But one must be very careful and read the labels. It is easier in the US that in Britain as our labeling is per serving in mg. they use grams per 100 gm of food I think. Good morning:)

Wow, thanks Dr.Grin and Sue.

I will try a couple of those the only trouble I cant eat:

Rubarb, tomatoes, honey any sugar or fruit!! Iam not good with too much fat either but I always make sure I have a little olive oil if I have an omlette but only a small amount as it affects me. Sunflower oil affects me big time compared to olive oil.

I have such a bland diet due to the candidas:

I eat only fresh whole products veggies, lean meat, try and have some very lean red meat once a week, fish (cut back on tuna as has salt in) so its very difficult theres nothing sweet in my diet. Cant eat any yeast either. I may see if i can order a yeast free rye bread as difficult to have breakfast so I normally have butter beans with poached egg or scrambeled or i will have an omlette with salmon and spinach or tuna and onion omlette..

I do keep my carbs low as I definatley want to just keep eating loads of them once i start, dont know if its my blood sugar..I will re introduce just very low GI carbs next week.

Sweet potatoe, new potatoes, buckwheat pasta. Iam still not confident i dont have a gluten problem to be honest. I tried having Ryvita no yeast, sugar or anything in them and they do affect me...

Ive even had problems with carrots, they are quite high in sugar naturally arent they..

I do have a small amount of natural bio 0% fat yorgurt with a sprinkle of cinimon and iam going to order some Stevia. This is why i end up going wrong its so blande and boring!!

I think ive been cutting the salt out too much, we need a small amount dont we. Since Ive been cutting it out yesturday and today I cant stop going for a wee!! Maybe ive cut the salt out too much, would that make you constantly pee? I look very gaunt in the face, i think from peeing too much I will add just a small amount of low ssodium sea salt

I took my BP this morning it was 100/70, so its not high.

Thanks

Moaning Mandy:) thats what i feel like ha ha!

Carrot sticks

Avacado on toast (bread without salt)

The blood pressure monitor is a small electronic device you wrap around your wrist.

I didnt take my BP whilst I was having the horrible symptoms after eating teh night before. My mum gave me the device in the afternoon as she is worried sick. So when i got home at about 7pm after doing virtually no salt, low carbs candidas etc diet..I took my bp

This morning I woke up took my BP at it was 95/70. As soon as I woke up i took my BP before food or any thing.

Ill be interested to know what it is when i add salt or eat a normal diet. Its a shame i couldnt take it the night before whilst having those horrible symptoms.

Once iam in my flat I may have to just cheat one more time and see what happens.

I also have had night sweating. Had that last night again too.

Thanks, hope you had a nice weekend :)

Be sure you are seated for 5 min and take 3 readings about 1 min apart and average the last 2 that is your pressue at that time. Be sure to hold the wrist at your heart level when seated. Thanks I didn't see avocados on the list. I saw cucumbers, but when I juiced

them it made me have instant headache and not feel well and I even diluted it

with water. Cucumbers are good for the skin so I thought it would help my

pathetic complexion right now

Hi Jeanne:

*** This diet will heal you by following it just the way it is. Bee always says

" more is not better " ... you can overwhelm your system by trying to do more than

just this diet. This diet is extremely powerful just as it is. People can shut

down or overwhelm their systems when they do this diet AND try to add in things

(like juicing, extra supplements and herbs, concentrated foods and seaweeds,

exercising, more of this, more of that...)

>

> Thanks I didn't see avocados on the list. I saw cucumbers, but when I juiced

them it >made >me have instant headache and not feel well and I even diluted it

**** Try to resist the temptation to " spot cure " things. This is a mistaken

notion that has been ingrained into us by the medical community and their drug

" cures " ---trying to cure parts or pieces of a problem rather than dealing with

the whole person and the source or root of the problem. When your immune system

gets stronger, your skin will look better.... and all your other issues will

start to resolve. Healing comes from within and from balance, this diet will

restore your balance.

***Cucumbers are fine, but I imagine you juiced 2-4 of them to make your juice

and that's too many. Moderation would be eating a quarter of a cucumber.

Juicing is not recommended because it concentrates the food source and

concentrates the sugars.

Hope this helps,

The best food against HIV is PROTIEN, any kind of protien. I cannot stress this

enough. For those who are poz, your body is constantly making cells, mostly T

cells, to do this it needs protien more than anything.

The best food against HIV is PROTIEN, any kind of protien. I cannot stress this

Trudy honey...  there are no calories in water.  Switch to juice and you have to eat more than a protein bar.  You need FOOD.  I went thru treatment and subsequently went into dehydration and malnutrition mode.  I became anorexic for a time there...  Your body needs those calories to even keep up with what the medication is doing to you.  You HAVE TO EAT.  Something, anything...  even if you have 8 little bitty meals in a day, you have to get at least a thousand calories in you.  How much weight have you already lost?  I'm guessing it's a pretty good number.  Like maybe 30 pounds or so?  If you don't eat and you get much weaker there is a good chance the doctor will stop your treatment...  They threatened me with it.  I started eating fruits.  Watermelon.. tons of it.  I had to put salt on it but I ate it.  Apples...  anything.  You have to eat.

Please try.

I'm concentrating on water; but my protein bar works if I eat it in two setting, not all at once. I realized yesterday that I was swollen and hard in my upper ab area. Quess it's the tx inflaming my liver and such. My doc told me I was anemic, but not enough to be concerned. Wish I had ask for the numbers. The weakness and a coupla times passing out are my concern. And water!
