Guest guest
Hi , I emailed our local PBS station in the Sacramento Valley, California (Northern California) and they said they did not have any intention on running the film. I will be posting the link to the local PBS station and the trailer to " Under Our Skin " on my facebook page. We need this film to run on PBS! Jeannie [utahLyme] Under Our Skin Action Alert! I am forwarding this from Regan at Open Eye. Please pardon duplicates if you have already seen it from another source. Preliminary calls have established that some PBS stations have already programmed the film while others appear to have no intention of airing it. If you tell them you know a large group of people who will watch and promote it, you might be able to persuade them to air it. Please post here how your station responds to your call so the rest of us won't continue to bother stations who already have programmed the film. This project probably involves just 2 or 3 - phone calls. I sure hope we hear some BUZZ about it, because no BUZZ will mean no one is doing anything. This is your chance to be an activist! Go for it! Stations can download the film for free from NETA on April 26 even if they don't use it right away. We want to see this film all over the USA! Phyllis Mervine CALDA Regan's message: Dear UNDER OUR SKIN Supporter, Just a quick update to let you know that starting next month the multi award-winning UNDER <http://cts.vresp.com/c/?OpenEyePictures/a306025dc5/2340aa3fae/8de0ef6c9a> OUR SKIN will be airing on many PBS stations across the country, and every day more and more stations are programming the film. We're asking you to check to see if the film is scheduled to show in your area. If your local PBS station has not scheduled the film, please contact them and ask them to show it. Many of the stations that are broadcasting UNDER OUR SKIN agreed to schedule it after receiving a handful of calls from viewers in the community. And if you are willing to help spread the word in your area about an upcoming broadcast, please be sure to mention that to your PBS affiliate so they will know there is local support for the film. Guest guest
Good lord. Northern California is hugely Lyme infested. Does the fact that one of the film's stars is a local ranger who was bit within 100 miles of Sacramento cut any ice with them, I wonder? There's a strong local angle there. Guest guest
In fact, the more I think about this, the more I think the producers should contact the Sacramento and Reno stations personally, and offer them a chance to talk to Jordan. Likewise with the stations near the other patients featured in the film -- make them available for interviews and so on. On Apr 19, 2011, at 10:19 12AM, Sara wrote: > Good lord.
