The first time I did this was a time that my eyes were so bad that I didn't dare drive for a few days. Just one meditation sitting gave me dramatic improvement. If you're not someone who's ever meditated, all you need to do is sit or lie down in a quiet room where you won't be disturbed and do nothing but follow your breathing. The breath in, the breath out. Thoughts will come and go and do their best to distract you, because that's what thoughts do. There's no way to stop them but all you need to do is switch your attention from them and again focus on the breath in and the breath out. For a couple of weeks recently, my vision was diminished and blurry, along with some other neuroLyme symptoms. I did a short meditation and my vision improved. I did it again in a day or so and the symptoms that had come back went away and haven't come back. That was about a week ago. I have a very hard time participating in my own self care. So, if anyone wants to join me in working on a new regime of daily meditation or some other self-care activity, maybe we could help each other on our paths to healing. Anyone? Guest guest
I have meditated for many years and, yes, you are correct; at least in my own case. It has also helped me deal with Lyme. I do think, though, that a deeper level of meditation is found when the breath is trained. At that point no longer focus on the breath. It sounds odd but the deepest levels of meditation come from focusing upon the focus itself. That is when everything vanishes but awareness. I have practiced yoga since puberty. One of the hardships of Lyme, in fact, was the neuropathy that made that VERY difficult. Some postures I could handle but my balance was terrible! Others were simply too far too painful. I am much better now but I still have more than a few rows to hoe to get anywhere back to my former agility and poise.          Be well and well blessed! He who binds himself to a joy, Does the winged life destroy. But he who kisses it as it flies, Lives in eternity’s sunrise. ~ Blake > I wonder if that will ever heal to any degree? It behooves me though to do it regularly so I too can do better at dealing with Lyme. I'm not dealing with it very well and the tick bites occurred ten years ago.
