Does anyone know of a LLMD in the northern VA area, preferably one that might be

reasonably priced - or willing to work with the patient. Thanks.

What state do you live in? I highly doubt your insurance company will know what a Lyme literate doctor is. They definitely won't be excited about you going to one. On Nov 11, 2011, at 11:41 AM, Linds J <lj_mom11@...> wrote:

Thanks . I have a PPO and I am hoping it will be covered. I'm waiting on them to call me with a Dr. in my area.

I have a HMO, Kaiser Permanente, and they don't cover anything outside of Kaiser, including prescriptions. They are very marginal insurance.

Are LLMD's not covered by any insurance? How about testing? Thanks

Right, depends on your plan. It's usually 80/20 after you've met your deductible or even with some plans it's 100% after deductible is met. AaOn Nov 11, 2011, at 11:42 AM, Goldstein@... wrote:

My LLMD doesn't take insurance or process it, but she has told us that if we have insurance that will pay for part of it after she gives us the bill, then some insurance companies like Blue Cross/Shield will pay for part of the treatment. From: "Linds J" <lj_mom11@...>bird mites Sent: Friday, November 11, 2011 9:41:20 AMSubject: Re: LLMD

And then some doctors do little testing. Mine only does the Western Blot at Igenix. But he knows the symptomology so well he can clinically diagnose these infections when they show up negative in testing. You can waste a lot of money on testing. Before I saw my doctor I tested negative for everything!! What a waste of thousands of dollars.Aandraya On Nov 11, 2011, at 11:48 AM, Goldstein@... wrote:

That should work for most LLMD's. Lucky you! We found that the testing was the most expensive! Had dozens of tests run at 6-7 different labs. Glad we did it but it was very expensive. Worth it.From: "Elissa " <elissarachel@...>bird mites Sent: Friday, November 11, 2011 9:45:54 AMSubject: Re: LLMD

That's true. Because now we know that there are 5-6 different strains of Borrelia alone, and dozens of strains of Bartonella, and a LLMD can tell by the symptoms what infection is going on. At least mine could. From: "Aandraya" <aandraya@...>bird mites Sent: Friday, November 11, 2011 10:24:28 AMSubject: Re: LLMD
