I also suffer from failed back surgery and have perm nerve damage to boot. My Dr's response was that I have to realize I cannot blame all my pains on lymes and lets just see how the antibiotcs work. > I live on long Island and was exposed to ticks last spring in both a local park and found a tick on my neck while visiting Virginia Last summer. Guest guest
To answer Donna's question, if it is lyme causing the joint pain, yes, the antibiotics will make you feel better. Some doctors say give it a 10 day trial; I had lyme with joint pain this past fall, and my doctor wanted to keep my on antibiotics four weeks after I felt completely better, and that was five months all told. My joint pain, which was crippling, is completely gone. My doctor may have treated me more aggressively than usual b/c this was my fifth bout with lyme.
