Yes, there is hope! Your next step would be to find an LLMD (Lyme literate

medical doctor) to work with.

Good luck!

The news is better than you might think.

One: I had Lyme for 23 years before being diagnosed. Following two years of

treatment, I'm now in a very solid remission, and on my way to 100%. If I got

better after all that time, it's possible for anyone.

Two: My son was diagnosed with Lyme at 15. He may have gotten it from me in

utero, or as a small child (we lived in an endemic area). Our LLMD treated it

far less aggressively than he treated mine: his experience is that teenagers

have far more robust immune systems, and make much better recoveries than adults

-- even if they've had it all their lives. My son isn't crippled by it by any

means -- he's a lively kid -- but we are watching to make sure that further

symptoms don't present as he gets older.

If you don't have an LLMD, your first order of business is to find one. You

certainly don't want to waste time doing half-measures or wrangling with doctors

who don't really understand what they're up against.

I answered this in another post. My LLMD is in Seattle (no, not the one

everybody knows about, the other one). I had no kidney problems; but, as I said

in the other post, I did lose my gall bladder.
