I had been taking hawthorne to partially control high blood pressure and to make

my heart healthy since about 1990. Then when I " acquired " lyme in 2008, I began

to have heart palpitations--felt like an anxiety attack. My herbalist had me

double the hawthorne tincture I was taking and the heart palpitations went away.

I was taking one tsp tincture per day and now take between 1 1/2-2 tsp per day

depending on the amount of Vitamin C I am taking in. It is an amazing herb.

And, of course, it contains a lot of vitamin C.

I have started on a low dose 120mg and will check my blood pressure daily and

see what happens.

The palpitations are caused by Lyme spirochetes infecting the heart muscle and

lining, which are full of collagen (which spirochetes just love). I'm not aware

that hawthorne makes the heart less hospitable to spirochetes, though it does

strengthen the heart generally and can thus make you more resistant and

resilient in the face of the infection.

Still, the bottom-line cure is to get rid of the infection.

Hi KATHLEEN,

Thank you for your feed back on Hawthorne it is good to know others experiences.

I have palpitations nearly always after being asleep, I always thought it was

due to adrenal fatigue I have worked long and hard at repairing my adrenals.

But I am now beginning to think it's the venous insufficiency the heart.

Fingers crossed the Hawthorne helps the Palpitations and my lymphodema

Do you take the Hawthorne tincture in one dose or divide through the day?.

Thanks,

DIANE.

Diane,

I separate out the doses--so I take 1/2 [3/4 to 1 tsp] in the morning and the

other half in the evening--for a totel of 1 1/2 to 2 tsp daily.
