Guest guest
Hi everyone! I'm new to the list--I recently went back on the anti-Candida diet and thought the list would be a good support system. The last time I did the diet I found that I was unable to keep any weight on and ended up losing about 10 lbs. Now before you think " Oh, cry me a river " I should mention that I ended up getting down to 110lbs which is WAY too thin for me. I thought I was eating the proper foods and in reasonable quantities.....hmm.... Anyway, does anyone have any tips for keeping weight on while on the diet? Are there any sugar free/yeast free " weight-on " formulas out there? Also, are antidepressants such as Zoloft harmful to a person with Candida (in the same way that bc pills, antibiotics are harmful)? I get Seasonal Affective Disorder every fall/winter but the last time I did the diet I found I was able to stop taking my Zoloft (gee..go figure!) and as long as I stuck to it I felt fantastic! Guest guest
Anne: I completly relate to the weight loss issue. I've lost over 25# in the last 3 months and am about 20# underweight (I'm 6'1 " and weigh 135) I'm desperately trying to gain weight. But it is not easy on this diet. Looking for tips too! Guest guest
Anne, I have no advice for the weight loss, but it is definitely ok to take Zoloft while on the candida diet. I've been taking it for over a year, and it's fine. I originally went on it because my candidiasis-induced depression was REALLY severe. Good luck! Guest guest
Hi Ann. For me, eating tons of nuts and nut butters helps me keep the weight on. Cashews, in particular. Also almonds, sunflower seeds and walnuts. Some say that nuts should be eaten in moderation, but I have to eat something! So I eat a lot!
