Guest guest
: Go on the cruise and have fun. Just remember to rest when your body says so. I just came back from San Diego and I had a great time. I also knew when to lay down and take it easy. Once was at the wedding of my sister's and I was the bridesmaid and they couldn't find me. I was up in their apartment sleeping. But you will know when you have to sleep and how much you can do at a time. Don't try and do everything in one day because your body will tell you to sleep for the next two days. Have fun and enjoy yourself. Sue AIH Wisconsin

The dr said Well, you are gona have bad days after all you do have a liver dis. Guest guest
Yeah, i realize that from doing an investigation into different hospitals, especially Mt. sinau, which everyone flows to that hospital, from what i heard they have to many people over at that hospital so it is a difficult task to help everyone. Especially since in NYC alone with over 8 million people, only twohundredforty two organ transplant were done last year. so the message has to be spread out about organ donation, lots of people think they're taking it with them to heaven. Well paul thanks for the info, and you are from where NYC? Hey one more thing the staff at NYU are awesome, they treated me very well for the past year and half, i got my appointments they explain things to me, very nice and friendly. Guest guest
> >Can having this Candidiasis cause alot of weight gain..?????? > >Christy Hi Christy, There is no clear connection between weight gain and Candidiasis. BUT, both problems are caused by the same set of underlaying causes. And because of that, it is possible to be overweight and still gave candida infection. Weight gain, is nether cause, neither result of candidiasis. Both problems are caused by the same set of causes. Weight gain problem can be caused by overeating refined foods that can be caused by lack of knowledge about food quality and by lifestyle, stress, suppression, emotional problems, lack of joy, lack of love,... But, weight gain problem can also be caused by deeper hormonal imbalances - endocrin system (thyroid gland, and other glands). Sometimes hyperthyroidism (too much of thyroid hormone) can be manifested in rapid weight gain. Prime suspects for imbalances in functioning of thyroid gland are: - pesticides poisoning - other toxins - mercury (amalgam) - aluminium poisoning - cadmium, copper, lead,.. - imballance of essential nutrients (iodine, trace minerals, essential fatty acids, vitamins, ...) - parasites poisoning (paraisites secret toxins) - radiation (computer screen, microwave oven, celluar phone, TV,...) - and many other Imbalances and malfunction of endocrinological system are caused by the same underlaying causes that may cause candidiasis: - internal pollution - toxemia - deficiency of essential nutrients on the celular level - parasites infection - stress, suppression, lack of joy, happines, desire to live,... No matter what is the name of your disease, or problem, to regain health, the way is always the same: cleansing, nutrition, diet, movement, positive thoughts and attitude, happines, ... Any other way gives only partial or short term result. read more: http://home.sol.no/~dusan/A_Health_General_Program.html Dusan

Guest guest
Cirrhosis Cure in Rats Discovered .c The Associated Press By MALCOLM RITTER NEW YORK (AP) -- Scientists wiped out liver cirrhosis in rats byinjecting their muscles with a human gene, raising early hopes for a newtreatment for people. The gene made the rats pump out high quantities of a protein thatpromotes liver regeneration while reducing cell death. That cleared upserious cirrhosis in the animals, researchers reported. A liver expert called the work exciting and said such treatmentmight someday be able to prevent cirrhosis in people at risk for it, and possiblyreverse the damage in patients who already have it. Cirrhosis devastates the liver with widespread scar tissue. It'scaused most often by alcohol abuse, but chronic viral hepatitis and otherdiseases can also create it. Severe cases cause liver failure and can require a transplant. About 25,000 Americans die from cirrhosis every year, according tothe National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. The new work is reported in the February issue of the journal NatureMedicine by Dr. Jiro Fujimoto of the Hyogo College of Medicine inNishinomiya, Japan, and others. There's no guarantee the treatment would work in people. The researchers are studying it in dogs and hope to get permission for human testing,Fujimoto said. The treatment was based on a protein called hepatocyte growth factor, or HGF. Previous work has shown HGF can promote liver regeneration and suppress cell death, while blocking a second protein that encourages scar formation. The researchers created cirrhosis in the rats by injecting them witha drug. Once serious cirrhosis was established, they injected some of therats weekly with the gene for human HGF, enclosed in fatty bubbles. Treated rats showed human HGF in their blood, indicating that thegene had settled down to work and ordered muscle cells to make the protein. The animals started making more rat HGF too. All 13 untreated rats in the experiment died of cirrhosis within 45days. But the nine animals that got the highest dose of the HGF gene werespared, and free of cirrhosis when removed from the study after 50 days. Dr. Michalopoulos of the University of Pittsburgh, who didnot participate in the study, said he was excited because it is thestrongest evidence yet that HGF might be able to treat chronic liver damage. He said he had never seen such extensive cirrhosis reversed in animals before. Although little or no research is being done on AIH specifically, it is this kind of stuff that helps all liver patients which could mean great things for us in the future. Guest guest
Jody I can't answer all the questions but from my experience the liver biopsy isn't that bad. They usually give you through an IV Versed and maybe some pain medicine plus they also numb the skin. The 2 or 3 jabs into the liver are not pleasant-but not unbearable either. I had to stay for 4 hours afterwards as an outpatient and went home-somebody of course will have to drive you. The next day I was a little sore but felt OK just tired. I'm sorry you are having a bad day. I know how those can be-it has actually been a bad week for me. I don't post very often but I do read most of them and it is supportive to know I'm not alone with this disease. I hope tomorrow is better for you and you have a nice weekend. The heat is gone here in Indiana-just in the 80's tomorrow and 70's on Sunday-my kinda weather-I can't tolerate heat anymore-my face/cheeks turn red red red-people go do you have high blood pressure? No-that's just me and what ever else is going on! Susie
Guest guest
Hi, I have had my ANA positive and then negative and then back to positive. My sed rate goes up and down compared to my disease activity. However, I have been also diagnosed as having lupus so I would say it has correlated more to lupus activity than liver involvement. I have had three liver biopsies. The first one done in 1985 was no picnic. However, the last one I had done in 1990 was a breeze. They have improved considerably and the thought of what they are doing is probably worse than the actual procedure. I do not tolerate pain medication well. Though it usually does require more medication than usual for me, I have reactions to the pain medication. I would rather have pain....up to a point. I did not have to stay in the hospital after my biopsy. In fact, the last one done in 1990 was at Mayo Clinic, Scotsdale. It was done on a Friday morning and my husband and I drove home to CA that night. I do get muscle spasms following biopsies. I don't know other people's experiences, but I do have pain afterwards, but it is tolerable and related to muscle spasms in my abdomen.
