Guest guest
Sounds liek candida to me, Andy! I was given a diagnosis of ME 7 years ago and left to rot, but my problems turned out to be almsot entirely candida-related, and are now all gone apart from the brain- fog, which is responding to biotin. What treatments are you on at the moment? The anti-candida diet is essentially a very healthy way to eat, and shouldn't do you any harm whatsoever even if you've not got candida - my advice would be to try cutting out sugars, refined food, what and yeast for a few weeks, eat some live yoghurt, and see if there's any improvement, however tiny. If there is, then you can proceeed with other anti-candida measures such as antifungals. Glad you've found us - this group is amazing. I've only been here a month or so and already I don't know what I did without these guys!! Nice to see another Brit here, as well - I'm in Cardiff. Well, it seems that candida was my problem all along (7+ years), so it's still relatively early days, given the length of time I've been ill. The anti-candida plan was horrible, horrible, horrible at first, but now, 5 months in and finally feeling like I'm doing it vaguely 'right', I've definitely got more energy. My head is slowly clearing, my joints and muscles don't hurt any more except when they're *really* cold, my immunity is picking up, and most dramatically, the shattering, crushing depression has lifted and I'm off anti- depressants for the first time in 4 years. So yes, it does work, but it takes time and it's not easy. In our culture of taking a pill to make the pain vanish, this wholesale and systematic rebuilding of an entire lifestyle is a bit of a shock, but it's a cure which gets to the core of the problem, not papering over the symptoms. Guest guest
Ann Do you live in England, as ME is only known by the British. It seems that each country calls it something else. I am from London, UK, and also suffer with ME. ICQ - 53662031 If you want to AIM me, let me know!

Guest guest
Wow, I am pleased to cure a problem with diet as opposed to a pill, but I am hoping for relief faster than 5 months, sigh. patience is not my best thing.
