I've read many of the archive postings, and you all advocate the use

of " stevia " as the preferred sugar substitute. About 8 years ago, I

tasted stevia (I think it was liquid form)and did not like the taste

(and the after-taste)and I do not have a " picky " tastebuds. Are some

brands of stevia better tasting than others? I would really like to

get off the nutrasweet and saccharin.

Also, I was wondering if any of you have used Somersweet (sugar

substitute)? It's a " supposedly " natural form of sugar that has a

very low glycemic index, no calories, no carbs -- Suzanne Sommers

sells the stuff on HSN and it is very $$$. My friend, a diabetic,

introduced me to it. It tastes great (which makes me worry-ha,ha)and

supposedly you can bake/cook with it. I tried to find nutritional

background info. online--I found a website for " trutina dulcem " (the

aka name for Somersweet). Again, my questions are: (1) Has anyone

else tried this sugar substitute? and (2) Is it " allowed " on an anti-

yeast diet?

Thanks to everyone for the great archive info!!

I got my stevia from beyond-a-century.com. I have tried several kinds

including liquid and this one is the only one I like. It is in powder

form but you should only use a teeny tiny bit per serving or it will

taste bitter and 50 grams will go a long way! Check out the

site---they have alot of other great products too.
