Guest guest
Hi Kandy and D'amico! I'm a candida sufferer and I've been sick a long time before I got my second son. He is now 6 years old. I'm writing to you beacuse I've never heard of restrictions regarding how long a baby should be breast fed. I think 4-7 months is too short if you have enough milk and would like to continue breast feeding. I'm a registred "Breast feeding helper" in Norway, and I know that even though allergens can be passed through to the baby, the breast milk also contains loads of positive substances for the baby. In my opinion, it is far worse letting the little 4 month old eat for instance cow's milk or wheat, which can cause allergy or insensitive reactions. All in all I think breast feeding is a very important subject, and we must all find out more as to if "candidiasis mothers/babies" could continue breast feeding (which I hope they could). I nursed my baby until he was 13 months, and he did not get candida, and he has so far not developed any allergies (which I have loads of). He is only sensitive to lactose. Sincerely, :-)
