Guest guest
Rice has a High " Glycemic Index " which means once it starts to digest it raises your blood sugar... this is why many people who are hypoglycemic can't eat any 'sort' of rice. Many of us with candida are still trying to " sort out " which food allergies we have, etc. and don't even 'know' if we are hypoglycemic as well!! One of the sure fire ways I knew I was hypoglycemic was when I ate something with a high glycemic index and then got the tremors/palpitations and shakes afterwards. wendy rice? I know rice is bad, but why exactly? Is it because it's starchy, or just because it's a grain? One candida book I have says I can eat " puffed rice " cereal, although I don't believe everything I read of course. But what would you put on the cereal? My mother always buys that rice dream non-dairy milk...she keeps trying to get me to use it, but it seems to have a lot of sugar (like 18 grams per serving), although the ingredient panel doesn't say it's added. Maybe it's natural? Not that that's any better. Then again, even organic yogurt has some sugar, 16 grams in mine even though it's completely sour, I guess from lactose. Has anyone else ever tried rice dream? Is there any other safe milk alternatives out there? *** *** __________________________________________________

He told me to soak it in water the night before....also told me to soak the oatmeal in water. You would be surprised at how much starch is in oatmeal.. I soak it the night before, then run it under a strainer in the morning....and wow ! Lots of starch comes out ! Guest guest
Hi , I have found Soya Milk to be a good alternative. I live in NZ so I don't know what brands of Soya to look out for in your part of the world. However, I have found there are a couple of things to look out for in Soya Milk. Firstly, there are types that have added calcium. I have found these ones with 'added calcium' come with 'cane sugar'. Which really is just the garden-variety refined sugar that we are meant to stay away from. Get the plain varieties - and double check the label to make sure their is no added sugar. You can get ones that use GM free beans and are organic etc. Cheers, . rice? I know rice is bad, but why exactly? Is it becauseit's starchy, or just because it's a grain? Guest guest
All the ones I looked at had added sweeteners, so I passed for the moment. I'd be interested who can get away with what sort, though. I would like to have some puffed millet cereal with some sort of milk substitute. It does have organically grown cane..but I water it down and use on my cereal...so far it doesn't make me itch like other foods that are taboo... Guest guest
I've found a great soy millk by Westbrae Natural. Called Westsoy - 100% organic soy milk. It is unsweetened and only contains filtered water, whole organic soy beans.... that's it. this is the best i've found - at the health food store. wendy ' Re: rice? The soy milk I use is called silk. Guest guest
Thanks everyone for the info on the soy milk... I SEVERLY miss cereal, it was one of my favorite foods. Unfortunately I am extremely allergic to soy, have been since I was an infant =-(. If rice milk is out than I'm all out of options, cereal-wise. *** *** --- D & WMcPhail <dwmcphail@...> wrote: > I've found a great soy millk by Westbrae Natural. > Called Westsoy - 100% > organic soy milk. Guest guest
What is the difference between white and brown rice? I just can't get used to the taste of brown rice, and they have the same amount of carbohydrates on the packages. Just wondering....I love rice so much, lol! I thought I was okay to eat it, but, guess not. ;o(. Re: rice? Rice dream has a lot of sugar. If you want to try rice eat brown rice, and millet, quinoa , amaranth. Guest guest
White rice is refined, whole or brown rice is not. It's the same as white and wholemeal bread. One is good for you, the other not. Guest guest
white rice OR brown rice both have a high glycemic index if you are hypoglycemic. Many people on the HG (hypoglycemic) diet cannot have any rice at all. wendy Re: rice? What is the difference between white and brown rice? Guest guest
I found an Oat Milk. My body seems to be able to handle that. Re: rice? > > > The soy milk I use is called silk. Guest guest
, Where did you find this oat milk? At the health food store? Or did you have to order it? I would love to get a hold of this. *** *** --- <rjflasch@...> wrote: > I found an Oat Milk. My body seems to be able to > handle that. > > > Re: rice? > > > > > > The soy milk I use is called silk.
