Guest guest
When I was pregnant with my daughter (who is now 12), I suffered from extreme fatigue. I was sleeping 12-16 hours a day and had zero energy. When I was diagnosed with Epstein-Barr several years ago, I recognized the feeling as how I felt when I was pregnant. When my daughter was an infant, she suffered from thrush twice and incredibly bad diaper rash...even though I kept her very clean. Whenever she ate carrots or yams the rash flared up. When she was a little older and I switched her from formula to milk, she showed a milk intolerance. When I asked the doctor about it, he pooh-poohed it as if it were nothing. I was younger and more naive then and believed him. What I think might have happened is that I had yeast overgrowth while pregnant and my daughter was born with it. That would explain a lot of the problems she had. She doesn't seem to be lactose intolerant anymore; however, she doesn't really drink too much milk...just on her cereal and the occassional cup of yogurt. She eats fairly healthy although she does like her snacks (like fruit rollups, chips, cheese doodles, etc.) At any rate, I know that now, 12 years later, there's nothing I can do about what happened but knowing what I do now just makes me suspect that yeast was the problem.
