Guest guest
Yeast infections are common in women using oral contraceptives. The higher the dosage of estrogen, the more likely you are of having a problem. The pill alters the acidity and sugar content of the vaginal secretions. In Crook's Yeast Connection Handbook, " ....Approximately 35 percent of women using " the pill " were having severe chronic yeast vaginitis.....Alternate methods of contraception... should replace the use of these hormones in women susceptible to their impact on yeast growth. " " For many years, Ellen Grant, a British ob/gyn, has expressed concern about possible adverse effects of the pill. In her book, The Bitter Pill, she said, 'Candidiasis is at least doubled among pill users.....' "
Guest guest
I have known several women that have had recurrent yeast and bladder infections that cleared up completely after going ON the pill. Which really leads me to believe this has to do with our hormones...and the ups and downs of them. I really noticed this month...three days before my cycle the itching was extreme...as if I veered from my diet and cheated....I didn't...after those three days..the itching calmed down and is almost non-existent. <Yeast infections are common in women using oral contraceptives.
