It's a herb...Personally, from my experience with health store clerks, I would take anything they say with a grain of salt. They're not health care practitioners. I've read the same about FOS. In Dr. Crook's book " The Yeast Connection Handbook " he does mention stevia and says it's 'worth giving a try'. I don't think there's been enough (or any for that matter) studies done on stevia and candida in order for anybody to say with authority that it cannot be used when trying to get rid of the yeastie beasties... Who is Diane Petosky? Kyla )

SHe tol dme that the bio-chemists working for Jarrow had researched it thoroughly, and that it only supports the good bacteria, and that's why they included it there. For the matter of not being a health care practitioner.... Doctors (MDs) ARE health care practitioners, and I surely don't believe everything they tell me. Not ALL health store clerks are twits, LOL.... some of them DO know what they are talking about. And this one seemed to be one of those. I do research myself, on what I am taking, I don't just accept everything they tell me. But if I find one who seems knowledgable, I do try to learn. After all, you have to turst SOMEONE, and I'm not so sure the DOCTOR is the one worthy of my trust any more. Lynn
