Hi Alice:

There is a difference in some of the symptoms between RA and Lupus. You can

have Lupus and also have RA. If you have RA your joint pain is symmetrical

being that if you have it in one wrist you have it in the other, if you have

it in one knee, ankle, hand etc., to have it in the other. Lupus people have

alot of the same symptoms too as RA people. It often takes drs. a while

before you can get a definite diagnosis of either or both. With both you can

or cannot have a high ANA or with RA you can or cannot be Seronegative for RA

and still have it. It is very complex and only your dr. (Preferably an

RD-Rheumatologist) can make that final determination. I hope I have helped
