Through proper diet and supplements I'm now able to control it. However, that was a year ago, and while I've fallen off the wagon several times, I've moved on from " self-prescribing, " to a naturopath/md, to finally now a dr. of functional medicine. I realize IBS was just a tip of the iceberg and these many other symptoms/conditions I have are in someway related to an imbalance of intestinal flora: lupus, fibromyalgia, headaches, (used to be sinus infections 3+ times a year, but now that has been corrected and I got 1 simple one last year due to 2 weeks of raining/flooding), elevated levels of antibodies for EBV and HSV1, hypothyroidism, leg spasms, bruising, insomnia, a dark toenail fungus and I'm sure there are more. annette

Guest guest
Roni, I just read today about tea tree oil, so i think I may try that. Have you tried the boric acid? And does it really cure a yeast infection? Thanks for all your help. Oh, and I forgot to add cold sores to my list of symptoms, however, I got those under control with lysine. Now I don't have to take it every day. > > My symptoms include recurrent yeast infections, gas, fatigue, > > headaches and sinus problems. Guest guest
I've been lurking for a while. This may be my first post. My major complaint is my son's and now daughter's eczema. We (chiropractor with applied kinesiology) discovered the problem through food allergies, weak liver and my son's suppressed immune system. Both my children were 100% breastfed with sever eczema. A limited diet has helped tremendously, but not 'cured' us. I do not suffer from yeast infections or thrush, thank God, but many foods cause aches and pains and severe eczema through my breastmilk for my children. I also battle with depression and anger, but I'm not sure how much is caused by the candida or the result of seeing my children scratch and itch all the time. I really would like to find something good for breakfast, but my daughter cannot handle me eating any gluten grains (no oatmeal), eggs, or corn. Wheat and corn are the biggest offenders, but I also avoid eggs, soy, peanuts, and oatmeal. our candida seems to be primarily digestive, maybe more widespread. And knowing I have a weak liver I really watch what medicines and such that I take. Anyone else heard of or use juniperus for supporting the liver, especially with toxins? Guest guest
Dee, I am currently trying the boric acid. Based on an herbal book for women it said to use 600 mg of boric acid in the veg caps for about a month (once in the morning and once in the evening). That does seem like a long time but I have chronic yeast infections. And then just in the evening when you get your period for 3 months. I feel like I don't itch as much but I'm also taking quite a few supplements so they may be having an impact as well. I've also read that tea tree oil is good. Hopefully, I can get this out of my body. I'm really tired of this itching!!!! Good Luck!! Roni

And then the more severe like headaches, fatigue , panic attacks , depression, shortness of breathe , mood swings , dry skin , sinus infections , hair loss, muscle twitches, chest pain , heart palpitations, food allergies , psoriasis , arthritis , etc... Anyone have an idea on what could be causing the shortness of breath symptoms? Guest guest
I got those symptoms with systemic fungal infection that had affected my lungs and bronchial passages. I also had to have an EKG and my heart rhythyms straightened out when I got started on Sporanox. Jean ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Guest guest
I have a basic familial anemia (through my mother and late grandfather, but we've only realised this recently). On top of this, I suffered from endless, clotting menstrual ovulatory flooding from age of 13 or 14. My grandfather suffered from digestive problems, fatigue, aches and pains, itching and fevers. He lived into his eighties. Ditto symptoms for my mother plus the menstrual bleeding which culminated in an emergency six pints of blood before an emergency hysterectomy when she was in her early 40s. Obviously this anaemia plus any blood loss predisposes to a natural yeast overgrowth and many symptoms. (Anaemia causes menstrual difficulties which vary according to the individual woman). Then prescribed drugs have brought along severe candidiasis and more damage. I think a problem I have had since April 1998 is probably connected specifically to candidiasis. I felt something drop in my left side/left back. Since then I have had a crawling, pulling sensation perhaps once or twice a day in the same place. It is a definite discomfort. I believe it may be connected with the passage of food and stools in the body. I did suffer from loose stools and a curious one a day ibs problem, but I seem to have controlled this with diet. If anyone has any suggestions about what this is, I'd appreciate hearing them. It does seem a little like a nerve but the actually dragging sensation I don't think is a nerve. With my mother (still alive and energetic in her seventies) I obviously have a " control " , a comparison and can see the damage wrought by the drugs. BTW natural progesterone (and I'm not talking about the medication, I don't know whether that's any good or even really a duplicate of progesterone in the body) is a precursor of all the natural steroid hormones from the adrenal gland in the body in both men and women, so any disruption, I have now learnt, can lead to a myriad of symptoms. The synthetic steroid, progestogen, suppresses natural bodily progesterone. I was first prescribed from the age of 13 or 14 so-called " combined " birth control pills (progestogen - a testosterone like chemical not the same as natural progesterone - and synthetic estrogen - both chemcals many hundreds of times more powerful than the natural hormones in the body). When these didn't work I was prescribed 15mg a day of a synthetic progestogen (the birth control pills have 0.0 something of progestogen) which brought along many side effects. My family are a curious mixture we have a lot of stamina and drive ourselves on, but obviously there comes a point when you can't go on. So yes, we've had shortness of breath (a classic symptom of anaemia). I've had hair loss but this has been a mixture of untreated anaemia and being prescribed a synthetic progestogen (15mg daily) over many years and the stopping of my natural periods (not the artificial withdrawel bleeds) some time while I was on the progestogen. My mother has not suffered from hair loss. Both my mother and myself suffered from occasional numb tips of fingers and toes since puberty. I believe now this is really caused by a lack of oxygenated blood in the extremities caused by anaemia (don't bother mentioning Raynaud's to me...). However after many years on progestogen I ended up with totally blue hands and feet, noticeable fungus on toe and finger nails. I know now that progestogen causes vascular damage and can also cause tiny superfluous veins to grow on the upper skin layers (as can any steroids - estrogen and progestogen are both steroid chemicals). I also have red spots on my fingers and toes. I have no problems bending them or gripping, but with cold. It's very freakish as they change color from second to second. When I press the skin, it goes white and then red floods in very quickly. They are not swollen. I also suffered from shoulder pain, chest tightness, not being able to lie flat at night, but I've managed to limit this by not eating too large a meals and a strict anti-candidiasis diet. Since last June I have lapsed only once from the diet for one evening when I was invited out to a hotel banquet. But I have every motivation to be strict, because I know a lot of my symptoms have been drug-induced from prescription drugs prescribed not for birth control but for menstrual problems since 13 or 14. And I know how I was before the drugs, especially before taking 15mg of progestogen, a synthetic steroid. Since taking liquid iron (without sugar), I have noticed an enormous difference in my health, although I don't know if I can reverse the vein damage and hair loss. I think the iron is strengthening my immune system to cope a little with the candidiasis. My mother, who was never prescribed synthetic steroids, does not have many of the symptoms I developed, especially after being prescribed 15mg daily of progestogen for years ie raised blood pressure, swollen hands, legs and feet (now thank goodness away), hair loss (so-called male pattern thinning), blue hands and feet with red spots, noticeable fungus in nails, ulcerations in the upper palate (now thankfully away although a yellow tinge remains), discoloration (including a yellow tinge) on my face and my hands above my knuckles and on my elbows and probably more that I can't remember now ... Guest guest
I agree . I too had exhausted adrenals and when I first started working out it took me about 2 days to recover. Now a month and a half later I am working out 5 days a week and feeling good. I started really slow and am continuing to work my way up. I usually keep my heart rate around 145(i'm 22) and it's okay. When your adrenals are exhausted you are just going to make it worse by pushing it. I totally agree. Elle --- Withers <asw@...> wrote: > Working out is the WORST thing you could do.
