diarrhea question

Hi all,

I have had the flu bug for several days (since Friday night) with chronic

diarrhea (not to sound nasty, but so you can maybe help me better--it is almost

like water, went from burning to now green in color with a very bad odor). I

have been drinking bottled water & gatorade, eating saltine crackers and jello.

I have also tried Immodium. Nothing is helping so far. I stopped taking my

meds except for my atenolol (for High Blood Pressure) and my Detrol (for my

bladder-which also started acting up)--otherwise I was unable to keep them down.

Is there anything more natural or herbal that anyone can recommend for me to

take? I do have Colostrum at home--would that help? I am so afraid to take

anything right now as I don't want to make it worse than it is (not that it

would get any worse than this).

Thank you all in advance. Jeri

Make you some potato soup using the outer 1/4 of the potato.

Don't forget that Gatorade and Jello are high in sugar :^(

The best alternatives I've found are Glaceau FruitWater and, believe

it or not, a sneaker-branded drink (Reebok, I think?). Glaceau has no

sugar, and Reebok has only 1g; both have electrolytes. I have only

seen the Reebok drink once, at a convenience store in South Carolina.

Glaceau is available at many health food stores. Of course, you have

no desire to run all over town looking for this stuff when you have a

roaring case of diarrhea, either!

Does anybody know if probiotics would help in this situation?

Am not sure how true this is, but i was once told live yoghurt is excellent when

you have this, but i am not 100% sure, cos i thought dairy aggrivated it, but

maybe cos it is plain and live it makes the difference...

I believe it can help. I've tried it and it seems to have a positive

effect.... it seems to slow it down.

Hi I've had great luck with food grade Oregano oil. Follow the dosage on the

bottle it is very powerful stuff and will kill any flu bug i've ever faced.

several times when my family has had diarrhea and everyone else in the state

i have been able to avoid it by pre dosing withthe oregano oil. You may want

to mix it with flax seed oil or olive oil to make it more gentle
